Should be champagne time for the americans. Their war industry has made trillions and should continue to do so at least 5 more years.

I watched it via BBC's WTF coverage. They didn't have a clue what was going on.
3000 people dead, incredulous death toll. |

a fair few Americans don't even know what it was all about.

On this day I was flying from Vladivostok to Heathrow and had an overnight stopover in Seoul. I'd been out and as usual in those days had a few too many. I returned to the hotel and switched on the TV and for a minute or two thought that I was watching a movie. I started to flick through the channels to find something in English and it was then that I realised the enormity of what was happening, it was on every channel. I eventually found CNN and spent the next few hours watching.
Next morning I had to take the bus to the airport and security at Seoul was incredible, there were armoured cars and two heavily armed soldiers at each entrance. It was quite unnerving until someone at the check in queue said that it was probably the safest day ever to fly. Not sure about the wisdom of that but I found it quite reassuring at the time. On arrival at Heathrow, there was nothing out of the ordinary security wise but that could have been different in the departures area. |

Did you know the initial plan was to fly into nuclear installations but decided against as they thought things could 'get out of control'?
How thoughtful of them ![]() |

Can you imagine the news story now with today's modern technology? You'd have people filming themselves from inside the towera with their mobiles, and sending the footage to friends and loved ones.
