2nd plane hitting an unbelievable moment in history

The forum started in 2000 I think. I arrived in 2002.

On this day I was flying from Vladivostok to Heathrow and had an overnight stopover in Seoul. I'd been out and as usual in those days had a few too many. I returned to the hotel and switched on the TV and for a minute or two thought that I was watching a movie. I started to flick through the channels to find something in English and it was then that I realised the enormity of what was happening, it was on every channel. I eventually found CNN and spent the next few hours watching.
Next morning I had to take the bus to the airport and security at Seoul was incredible, there were armoured cars and two heavily armed soldiers at each entrance. It was quite unnerving until someone at the check in queue said that it was probably the safest day ever to fly. Not sure about the wisdom of that but I found it quite reassuring at the time. On arrival at Heathrow, there was nothing out of the ordinary security wise but that could have been different in the departures area.

on the morning this happened i,d just been released from hospital from a serious virus remember watching the news with the wife and couldnt believe what was happen, still believe to this day that these people didnt expect to complete the attack and expected to be shot down way before hitting their targets,unbelievable

I was in Las Vegas with a bit of spare.A tad inconvenient as I was supposed to be playing golf in Spain.Arrived home a week late.

Did you know the initial plan was to fly into nuclear installations but decided against as they thought things could 'get out of control'?

Can you imagine the news story now with today's modern technology?  You'd have people filming themselves from inside the towera with their mobiles, and sending the footage to friends and loved ones.

I was working as well but everyone in our office just downed tools and sat glued to the tv.

RIP   Watched United 93 last night for the 10 th time ,they really hadnt a clue what was going on ,Even after the Towers Were hit they had the wrong plane as hitting them ..
