It's lovely not to answer your phone

90% of the time my mobile is on mute, the other 10% it's hidden under a cushion.

I don't like 'phones and refuse to take any notice of them whatsoever.

Me too. My very basic mobile is for emergencies only.

A lot of people are so obsessed with their phones they are missing out on real life.

I use it too for texting Mr Makybe or for him to text me to let each other know if we are going to be home late etc.

Our house phone rarely rings. I usually answer it if does.

*if it does.

Having a job to type and concentrate on Burghley HT at the same time.

A generation thing. I never answer the feckin thing, or read the texts till a couple of days later.

Heard on the radio the other day, that your phone mirrors your own personality.... I think that they're onto something there.... Coz mine is out of date, knackered & got no credit

Not always a generation thing I have an Aunt in her 70s  who loves her iPhone and is always on Facebook. She doesn't go anywhere without her iPad and phone.

Fair play to your Auntie...... My mother is 86 and she's only just sussed out how the light switch works

Remember reading about Freddie Couples, the easy going and likeable American golfer, being asked by a journalist why he never answered the phone..

"because someone might be on the other end he replied"

I now don't bother answering the landline, its nearly always a sales/scam call and once you answer your line is marked as "live" and your number is sold on.

I got rid of my landline 4 and a half years ago.
Best thing I ever did.

no problem with sales people, they`re just doing a job, ok not a problem.

its friends, or relatives even worse. i would like to be invisible.

people pretend that it is sales people they don`t like calling them, but it`s not its relatives and friends.

they don`t like to admit it.

I'm not important enough to have a phone.

The sooner we can get rid of having to rent a landline to get a decent deal on broadband the better.
