You are right Zorro....we often rely on amateurs to spot these, our larger telescopes target deep space.

It will happen one day, something big will hit us...just ask the Dinosaurs.

Well if they were still with us.
Report jed.davison September 1, 2016 10:36 AM BST
There is a school of thought that it was a gamma-ray burst that wiped out the dinosaurs.
Report FlowerMyth September 1, 2016 11:14 AM BST
Two mass extinction events close together - Chicxulub asteroid impact and Deccan Traps forming is another school of thought.

some scientists? believe dinosaurs were wiped out by a
super volcano? or combination of meteor//volcano?
back to that word 'theory' as they don't really know.

we all know about London buses.Shocked
Report zorrostrikes September 2, 2016 2:02 AM BST
true - gravity pulls them into the orbit. Usually February for some reason. Maybe we come close to some other orbit.
Report Mc Moonbeam September 2, 2016 2:42 AM BST
Gravity also deflects them from the earth zorro (adds fact to the earth being a spinning globe) so it'd be an absolute Disaster if one did ever hit us , also why they don't bother worrying us , more interested in fooling us the earth is flatWink
