Wash out cans, jars bottles etc, I do if I have time or can be bothered, much of the time jars like mayonnaise just get thrown into the recycling dirty cos I didn't Think it mattered that much.

The missus has just said that it was on the news a few days ago that dirty recycling contaminates the rest of the bank, and that the whole lot will then be taken to land fill.....any truth in this guys, cos I would obviously nowrather spend a couple of extra minutes doing the right thing than see everything end up in land fill.

I recycle all packaging, and that more than fills my bin up.

Empty jars go into my normal bin, and I don't wash them out.
