Was thinking of trying it out, especially if I went there with a good few k already in the bank as the cost of living is so cheap.
I'm just thinking I want a bit of an adventure and I have nothing to lose (I'm 26, single, still live at home, technically unemployed) a part from missing a few friends and family.
If I ended up broke over there, I could just come back home and start again.
I've been to Pula, Croatia before and really enjoyed it there.
Would appreciate any advice/stories of someone who has done this, thanks.
Had a work colleague spent loads of time in Poland. In conversation with him he said he could live on £7 a day ex drinks. This was about 15 years ago. God knows what his accommodation was like. The drink was remarkably cheap as well.

Not heard from him since though.
CZECHBET, I take it you are from the Czech Republic then? I know Prague seems fairly cheap place to live. I take it your Betfair is easily accessible too?

hectoratora, I've read that a lot of youngsters speak English nowadays anyway but I would definitely be trying to learn the language before I went. Are you from Easter Europe then HECTORATORA?

I am from Portsmouth.. but been out here 2 & 1/2 years,
Prague and Brno are both around the top 50 cities in the world to live in, for generally quality of life and i can 100% vouch for that.
i only speak 100 Czech words and rarely need them

Ha nice one! I'll have to take a look at Prague and other places there. Do you mind if I ask what you do for a living or do you just live off profits from Betfair?

Shortly after the Brexit vote there was an article in the Daily Mail about some Brits who lived there and absolutely loved it and they were worried that they may have to come back to the UK. It was a very interesting article and it sounded like they had a lovely life in Bulgaria. Hopefully they will be able to stay.
I would post the article for you to read but can't find it.

If you are trying to work out here "on the books" as above Brexit may have put a spanner in the works on that.. and although relative to cost of living you wouldn't take home a grand in most jobs here either
best beer in the world is a quid tho

Yeah Makybe, I was looking at Varna in Bulgaria too. It's even cheaper than Croatia and Czech Republic it seems!
That's the thing Czechbet, I'd be going there with a few k and hoping to make even just £30 or so a day on average through Betfair/Bookies. Seems there's no point going there and getting a basic job because I'd be know better off than being here.
Beautiful women, bit of a party life, maybe a beach, cheap food and cheap beeer, better weather. WHAT MORE DOES A 26 YEAR OLD SINGLE LAD WANT???!!!

Id recommend Romania.Really nice people there, much cheaper than Czech Republic and the language is much easier to learn. Bulgaria is really cool too, and even cheaper than Romania.
