I think both men and women should stay loyal to their partners myself.
But in todays world both men and women cheat on one another if they have the opportunity,
and if they find someone better, are quite happy to dump their original partner
I don't think the plot of 'Brief Encounter' would be plausible now, I wonder if it was even then?
