Awful story. Feel for the woman but also for her poor pets. Their deaths would have been a lot slower and more painful than hers by the sounds of it.

Don't know how this can happen... someone wants access to my flat every couple of months?
gas meter readers, electricity reader, council people changing radiators, windows, kitchens. never left alone?

The only part of this story that really means anything to me is the speed of death.
If she died quickly what's it matter how long she went undiscovered?
She was kaput by then.

All those getting sentimental need to review the facts.

Everyone dies alone.
Some die at the same time (terrorism) but all die independently.
Some die in a room of the living, but facts show most 'let go' only when others leave the room.

So it comes back to suffering, if it's quick then it doesn't matter.

...and chances are in this case she slipped into a coma and never woke up again.
