Men's road race gold medallist Greg van Avermaet: This is the biggest title you can have.
It was not a great course for me, it was really hard but I had a great day and the last 10-15km was perfect. A lot of riders crashed so I just kept it safe and in the end it went perfect for me. Incredible moment. some ride |

Chris Froome may have finished 12th in today's road race.
Geraint Thomas was the highest finishing Briton in 11th, with Adam Yates 15th. Ian Stannard and Steve Cummings failed to finish. |

Looking forward to the womens' race today with £2 ew on Niewiadoma at 250-1. Tried for £5ew but Corals said sorry you can only have £2.20 ew at those odds.

I think 1-30 same as the men but obviously shorter race. The womens' race is often good because as it's shorter they dont just rely on the distance to wear down the field and hence you can get a lot more attacking.

I got that wrong. It's 4.15 so it finishes about at the same time as the mens' race yesterday.

question, i dont understand boardmen and co banging on about team riding etc and it been harder in the games because theres only 5 riders instead of 8 or 10
but what i dont get if your a good enough rider but in a weak team,whats stopping you say in the tour becoming skys unoffical 11th rider sitting in behind ,doing none of the work and gaining all the same advantages as skys wanted rider on the day, thinkits all a bit of a con myself for the tv camera.s, a bit like the year froome spent stage after stage waiting for wiggins when he could have obviously battered wiggins |
