Bumper cars, although I always seemed to have a gypo jump on the back for the entire ride. Fast forward 30 years and not much has changed but this time it's usually a Romanian trying to clean my fecking windscreen.

I remember taking my Granddad on the waltzers many years ago, he was about 60 at the time, never ever heard him swear before, he did not enjoy it at all.
Gravity Wheel/Wall was my fav followed by the bumper cars. Perfect.

I worked on the Bumper cars along with several less attractive rides one summer.

Up to maybe the mid-80s, fairs could be dangerous places, with injuries on rides common. I was talking to an oldtimer from St John Ambulance who reckoned they could count on two or three fractures over the fortnight the travelling fair came to town each year. Then "it's health and safety gone mad" got involved so now it is news if someone is hurt, and the ride will be shut for investigation.
