Consistent - stayed on the podium from the end of day 1
CLIMBERS
Basil_the_Don - 9th at the end of day 1, 4th after days 2 and 3, back to 6th after day 4, ran on well in the straight to be 2nd at the line

DROPPERS
DFMS - Leading at the end of day 1, not race fit, 4th at the line
TheNorfolkMafia - 6th at the end of day 1, 11th after day 2, 10th after day 3, 12th after day 4, rallied to get back up to 8th on the line

Day 1 podiumists who dropped away
aasbff -  4th after day 1, bombed out to 21st after day 2, 17th after day 3, missed day 4 and dropped to 25th, faded to 32nd on the line

Blackpood - a good competition debut after day 1 in 2nd place, faded to 6th after day 2. faded slowly away to 19th at the line

gleeman - 10th after day 1-  up to 9th after day 2,  faded away to 25th at the line
kelly brook - 7th after day 1, 20th after day 2, rallied to 14th after day 3, faded to 18th at the line
mwnightmare  - 3rd after day 1, then slipped to 8th after day 2, 9th after day 3, 10th after day 4, faded to 16th at the line

RoyClaytonsTash - 5th after day 1, 11th after days 2 and 3, 14th after day 4, passed by finishers in the straight, 15th at the line

Squeeze Firmly - 8th after day 1, subjected to barging with heavier players on day 2 and dropped to 15th, stuck on the rail after day 3 in 19th, 18th after day 4, got clear too late and was 14th at the line


Not on the podium at the end of day 1, but on it at the line
Alpha Centauri - 18th after day 1, massive headway to get into 2nd after day 2, stayed there until day 4 but faded in the home straight to 5th at the line

bodil - a tardy start after too many brandies on Monday night to be 25th after day 1, started racing on day 2 and was 8th after day 4, faded slightly to be 9th at the line. 

Jamie - 16th after day 1, steady progress, to 13th, 8th, and 5th after day 4, faded to 7th at the line as the finishers closed. 

pumphol - the pick of the paddock judges   14th after day 1 at a sensible pace, progressed to 7th after day 2, 5th after day 3, 3rd after day 4, and a sustained run in the home straight saw him pock up a bonus and collar the leaders near home and draw away for a fine win.

rogerthebutler - drawn wide, got stuck out there on the turns and was 25th after day 1, improved to 11th after day 2, a bit of argy-bargy saw hin drop to 15th after day 3, moved up to 11th after day 4, stayed wide and passed a lot of non-stayers in the home straight to finish a very 3rd at the line. His trainer said later 'Don't expect a repeat of that performance at York'

TheCoat - 13th after day 1, good progress to be 5th, 4th, and 6th over the next 3 days but faded to 10th at the line.

Never got going at any stage
breadnbutter - 22nd to 35th
dukeofpuke - 32nd to 31st
ellis - missed the start - 30th after day 2, and still 30th at the line
feastorfamine - faded from 11th to 20th
Gnarley - joint 30th to 23rd
HH Sultan Vinegar - joint 30th to 21st
Jodean - missed the start - 34th to 28th
Joel -  33rd to 36th
johnnyrant - 18th to17th
old applejack - 14th to 23rd
onthehoy - 16th to 26th
s. kenbo 27th to 27th
Scoop6 - the runaway Cheltenham Festival winner missed the start, and never got nearer than 30th after day 4, but faded to 34th.
sixtwosix - 34th after day 1, some late progress to be 22nd at the line

Flattered to deceive
Makybe Diva - 11th after day 1, cruised into 9th after day 2, still travelling well when 3rd after day 3, went back to 4th after day 4, got swallowed up by those horrid finishers in the straight and faded to 12th.


THE WINNING MARGIN
Was 1.48 points, and made possible by pumphol grabbing a very valuable 20 point Bonus to land the spoils.

The smallest win margin on record is by Dan Chipshop some years ago, when his 10 point Bonus saw him win the competition by just 0.95 of a point
