I heard somebody say something along the lines of 'I believe we can still win this war' earlier.

Well could somebody tell me exactly what the parameters are of this 'war' and then Ill give an assessment because the way I see it if a terrorist can commit atrocities simply by hiring a truck and mowing people down Id say its unstoppable and therefore unwinnable.

Correct; but there are things that can be done to 'try' and stop these atrocities. They failed, which means HE failed.

All wars are winnable but you sometimes have to take extreme measures - the terrorists have been funded to a degree by individual sponsors in Saudi and Kuwait - find out who the individuals were by coercing the governments within that region and eliminate those that fund the terrorists - if they have no funding you destroy their credibility

It is a war being waged and we need to win it by whatever methods are required

I'm afraid morality has to be thrown out of the window and any strongholds held by the terrorists need to be obliterated even if that means innocent lives are lost - it will create martyrs but they will function only in an individual capacity instead of within an organisation so will reduce their capacity to harm although it cannot be eliminated totally

This isnt a 'war' its degenerates acting with what they believe to be a cause.
It cant be 'won' nor 'lost' people will continue to blow themselves up or drive into people irrespective of who you kill in attempting to stop it.

If we arnt careful the 'war' will have been lost in the process of attempting to 'win' since they will limit more and more freedoms chasing tails, so at what point do they then say the western way is still what they are trying to defend?

Wouldn't surprise me one little bit if Israel was buying the ISIS / Iranian oil on the black market to fund them.

No conspiracy theory, just pure logic.

ISIS doing very little in the way of attacking Israel and everything by way of causing an irreversible schism in Islam.

Two coppers were next to the drivers door before he drove through the crowd and looked like they were shooting, yet they somehow mangaged to miss the driver.  A guy on a motorbike was trying to get in the cab from his bike on the video that was shown.

It shows that they had an idea of the drivers intentions and didn't stop him, they could have shot his tyres out at least.

what are we prepared to do? we know they murder without compunction, men women children black white asian muslim christian, it makes no difference to them. they are about destroying a way of life. can we sink to those depths, can we bomb to oblivion any town or city they occupy,should we make sure any IS fighters captured are executed. we believe in freedom of speech, of democracy, of the rule of law, if we are not prepared to abandon those beliefs to defeat terrorists then we cannot win, we have to be lucky all of the time, they only have to be lucky once.

If you use Wikipedia population/religion statistics and some simple maths you can see that

In a 100 years time over 50% of the UK POPULATION will be Muslim

More likely this will become exponential so you can probaly take 10(+) years off that

When kids who are born today retire the dominant religion WILL be Islam in the UK.

Will be interesting to see the next census results, but there will be a HUGE number of muslims who will not appear on it.
