I tend to awaken in the pitch black - gently pull back the duvet - prop myself up on my left knee- stretch over her with my right leg- form an arch - gently and in slow motion move my right arm over her to prop myself up on her side of the bed- bring my weight to bear on my right elbow , missing the bed completely - roll speedily off the bed in the pitch black void  and i career into the bedside cabinet,  upsetting and shattering the water jug and collapse on the floor , concussing myself on the corner of the cabinet as i go.

Never fails to get her attention
