What made you go for the test in the first place? How hold? Do you smoke?

Good morning everyone.Thanks for the kind words again it's really lifted my spirits.
I used to smoke for about 40 years and had many failed attempts to stop until about seven years ago where I started to really worry about getting lung cancer.
Once I got to that stage quitting was really easy for me.
I had to see a specialist on May 16th as my blood pressure has been rising along with my weight again. He increased my ramipril tablet and I agreed to lose some weight.
As some on here will know ramipril is well known for making you cough.The coughing got pretty bad so I went to the doctors about it hoping to maybe get the ramiprill dose back down again.
The doctor was having none of it and said because I'd been on this tablet for so long the extra dosage wouldn't be the reason for the cough.
So I was sent for a chest xray.I had no idea until yesterday when I was told it came back clear just how much this has stressed me out. I've lost a stone in a few weeks where I lost my appetite and yesterday felt 100% better as soon as I got the news.
Still coughing but it is easing but I'll put up with that.
