Most of the usual suspects so far but I'll give a shout to Hi De Hi, great characters and writing, especially the first 5 or 6 series.

Off the top of my head here's some of mine.BEST.Faulty Towers,Steptoe,Dads Army,Monty Python,Till death do us part,The Freddie star show from the early/mid 70s and the Office.I also liked It ain't half hot mum because it made me feel kinda warm.WORST.Bread.A comedy about dole scrongers in Liverpool written by a liverpool writer carla lane. She also wrote the dreadfull Liver birds. On the buses was ugly and depressing.LOVE thy neighbour was funny but for all the wrong reasons.Mind your language I seem to remember had a good theme and the very Wonderfully sexy Francoise Pascal but it was as comedy shows go pretty dire. Not purposely a comedy but I thought at the time that Brookside, because it was so terrible, was the funniest thing on TV.As regards Yankee shows,I like the old ones Bilko,Car 54,Munsters,etc

The Office...
Watched one episode of the office to see what all the fuss was about. Don't think I managed even a smile throughout!
I think it only appealed to office workers though?

It's quite strange how people can either love/like the office or hate/dislike it.I Loved It.

Anybody have any love for Terry and June?
By:
johnizere
When: 05 Jul 16 00:30
culvin... I didn't hate The Office, like some, I just didn't see the funny side of it. Like I said, it probably appealed more to office workers who maybe had situations like that at work. Same goes for Auf Wiedersehen Pet which could possibly appeal more to contractors and building workers, situations they could relate to.

Early Doors along with Fawlty Towers had only 12 episodes each and both will take some beating for sheer comedy excellence.

I've enjoyed a few US sitcoms over the years but my favourite has been Arrested Development.
