I voted for independence and I voted to leave. That double clearly in the minority.

Twice in 2 years the world order (US, IMF, ECB, EU, Goldman Sachs, BoE, JP Morgan, ratings agencies etc) lined up to tell Scots, "vote for X or else" and twice the majority did as they were told. That is the common denominator as I see it. Scots may feel slightly more European than the English but most of this is just doing what we were told mixed with political opportunism.

A lot of short memories aswell in regard to the then commission President saying EU entry for an independent Scotland would be 'difficult if not impossible' and a likely veto from Spain to stop Catalonia getting the wrong idea about democracy. 18 months later it was a love in with seemingly no debate within the SNP on the EU question - a stance that Labour were slated for during the indyref.

So Spain had come out and said there would be no Veto then, please post a link? You do realise that some SNP idiot telling the EU MEPs how great they are and how much he loves them, and them in turn clapping it, this doesn't change anything?

"So you want to join .. ok, lets see your balance sheet .. so .. you're basically Greeks without the Salad?"

LaughLaugh JC

Honourable mention also to Goonthen: The poor bloke was probably traumatised at the prospect of having to return to Scotland.

And Fred: Scotland does about 10% trade with the European Union and 80% with the UK.

He wants Scotland to leave the UK and join the EU. Mentalist.

As I've pointed out before - British is more a political identity rather than a nationality - it equates to European in many respects.  European / British whatever - you can vote to be one or the other or neither.

English, Scots, Irish, French, German, IcelandicCool - are "proper" nationalities - you cant "vote" to be / or not be.

I suspect he is very worried about losing his 10000 Euros a month package , that must
make for a cosy lifestyle for him and his partner Jonathon.

I think its a no lose situation, they have another neverendum, and if they vote stay within the UK, maybe the SNP will STFU ...at least for until something else pops up they can whine about....if they vote leave, good luck with keeping free prescriptions, no tuition fees, without huge tax rises, and the Barnet formula money sent there can go to Wales, NI and the NHS
