England vs Iceland - psychological loss.

I was watching the second half and Iceland was over run. England had the possession 80 percent of the time? I actually was shouting at the tv... why don't they just pass until they are in the net. Really. Why shoot. they were tightly passing and keeping the ball . Iceland somehow survived to keep the 2-1 lead.
I saw the interview with Roy Hodgson in the afternoon and thought they're gonna lose this one.
He was spitting feathers and waffling about leaving England if they lost.
