All Member States of the European Union, except Denmark and the United Kingdom, are required to adopt the euro and join the euro area. To do this they must meet certain conditions known as 'convergence criteria'.


One of the convergence criteria relates to your control of your central bank- and you ain't got one

BTW - are you aware that the Scottish notes are not Legal Tender- in Scotland or anywhere?

Also the EU have rules about maximum deficits as a % of the economy and Scotlands deficit would far exceed that.
