but be aware: the euro project is for ever closer union - and its only recently that this has been publicly promulgated - this was always their plan from the outset but softly softly the line has been crossed- it will take a lot to get them to step back over it Europe's real chance lies with the French people - they just might be next..... |

The EU is finished. They thought the British would back down but how wrong can one be? France is likely to have a referendum in the not too distant future.

Agree with that gerry, he didnt try hard enough and the EU may live to regret not understanding he was playing with a poor hand. My concern would still be the same however,we never voted for full integration and the EU zealots owuldnt listen to our concerns,rather like Westminster on a bigger scale. It seems to be an affliction that affects politicos all over.

A 2 tier EU based on GDP, with focus on trade. No closer union, no army, no superstate. All power with MEPs.
I would like to see us drag it out so pro-referendum movements can start in other countries then there will be leverage to get proper reform, and a second referendum. That's my preferred option. I want to be in a good European Union. I don't want to be in the EU as it is, and as it will become which is why I voted out. People say you can't reform from the outside but I think somebody had to say 'enough' to try and kick off real reform. As has been said it is just too big. The difference in wages between certain states is too much but then again I'm a narrow minded racist so just ignore me. |

Perhaps a small minded bloke like Juncker who ran Luxembourg,famous for its 1% corporation tax and home to multi national tax dodgers like ebay, was the wrong man to handle these negotiations for the EU.
