Wiki :

Worsley lives in Southwark[19] by the River Thames in south London with her husband, the architect Mark Hines,[1] whom she married in November 2011.[20] With reference to having children, Worsley says she has been "educated out of normal reproductive function".[21]

As a TV presenter, she is known for having a rhotacism, a minor speech impediment[1] which affects her pronunciation of "r". When she made the move from BBC Four to BBC Two for the series Fit to Rule: How Royal Illness Changed History, she worked with a speech and language therapist to help with her pronunciation, but to no avail.[22]

In her teens, Worsley represented Berkshire at Cross country running and, as a pastime, is still a keen participant in the sport.

I was reading this thread thinking "blimey, you're all a weird bunch" until realising I had mixed up my Blackadder characters... When the earlier poster said Lucy Worsley reminded him of Queenie I mixed her up with Nursie!

being serious, who cares about such a minor impediment? she's a very clever lady who knows her stuff.

I find her quite sexy. She's a very good historian, and takes it seriously, but she seems to have a sense of fun as well. I think she's cute.

I went to school with her apparently (I was year above) where she was the 'only communist in the school' or some such bullocks she said once on the subject (on going to school with me).

if lucy is a commie my love will only grow. she's pretending to love the monarchy and is helping to destroy the system from within, she grows more fragrant by the day

I like her and her voice+speech impediment only adds to her allure.

Then there's the other BBC historical documentary one - Dr Suzannah Lipscomb, her voice is also a bit strange at times, she sounds like she's morphing into Margaret Thatcher. Very nice and hard to believe she's 38.

She is a brilliant broadcaster.

Her dad was a prof or something in Reading and she refused to go to a public school and my (state) school had a good name then (used to be grammar and been school since C15th) so she got the train to Newbury is the story i believe. I was in the quiz team and she wasn't in that so she couldn't have been that clever then as we were county champs and didn't need her!
