I went in 1981. Great weekend, was very hot, loads of outdoor bars/eating places.No idea what was happening in the race most of the time. Sometime later we found out that a driver had been killed though, which dampened spirits to say the least.

I'd not seen that footage of the 1981 crash before. I remember now that a marshal was killed as well.
Looking at it on google, some interesting driver names in that race, including Eddie Jordan, Mark Thatcher, Tiff Needell and Tom Walkinshaw |
