Lord Coe won the presidency of the International Association of Athletics Federations with the help of the man at the centre of the sport's doping scandal.

Had great ding dong battles with Steve Ovett at that time alright.

It was a shame they didn't race more often - pretty much only at major championships. I always liked Ovett more, but Coe was just poetry. I remember him running 1.44.56 for the 800m on the way to breaking the 1000m record - which then stood for about 20 years iirc.
