In Malaysia last year there were calls for Sharia law to be brought into effect in some States for all Muslims - the country is populated by ethnic Muslim Malays , non-Muslim Chinese and Indians and others. I dont know if it was enacted:
So- 2 guys - a Muslim and (say) a Chinese do a robbery and are later arrested.
There re no witnesses - just watertight forensic/ dna evidence - and neither 'shop' the other
Under sharia law the Muslim goes free- but the other guy is found guilty at court
why?
6th century Sharia law requires a witness to get a guilty verdict- without a witness forensics are inadmissible
Punishment : each of the robbers is to be subject to different punishments.

Why are rape victims often punished by Islamic courts as adulterers?
Under Islamic law, rape can only be proven if the rapist confesses or if there are four male witnesses. Women who allege rape without the benefit of the act having been witnessed by four men (who presumably develop a conscience afterwards) are actually confessing to having sex. If they or the accused happens to be married, then it is considered to be adultery.

The op is an interesting one. Be good to have some fact-based input on the question posed. Seen Ron's stuff but he struggles to be fact based with his in-built bias to all things of this faith.

Rape of Muslim women is against Islamic law - although the rape of non-Muslim women is not, if they are 'captured in battle' or bought as slaves. Even the rape of a Muslim woman is almost impossible to prove under strict Islamic law (Sharia). If the man claims that the act was consensual sex, there is very little that the woman can do to refute this. Islam places the burden of avoiding sexual encounters of any sort on the woman.

Ron - I was looking for fact based stuff, or at least informed opinion. Not sure I was in defensive mode, but if attack is your plan, then post some serious stuff for debate.
i saw a guy on CNN today.......an american, say that islam is a religion of peace etc............that arguement falls apart when u look at how islamic countries treat women and gays.......i know these jihadi guys are nuts but what about saudi, UAE, Iran......
I haven't the time just now to search this out but I do recall watching a programme about women seeking a judgement in a Sharia court.
The one part about it that really stuck in my mind was that in every case a mans evidence had more clout than a womans.
Now even something as simple as that could never surely be allowed to become okay in the UK.
