THe flag used to have seven why'd they drop the seventh.

When Sir Isaac Newton did his spectrum Thang with the prisms. He named seven for the spectrum because there was seven musical notes and because their was seven days of the week.

six ? i might be autistic . get me a doctor.... one with nice boobs.

There are 12 in each octave on my piano. Far too many for my 10 little fingers and thumbs to keep up with.
Scott Joplin has a lot to answer for.

another corruption of knowledge by the style over substance brigade.

Style over substance brigade? That's great coming from you Zorro Laugh
If we were limited to the key of C music would be bland indeed and I could blank off all the black keys on my piano.
If you played music you would know that the key of C has two semitones B-C and E-F, are the others to be ignored?
Here is some basic information for you.

so my keyboard in the attic is wrong.
ABCDEFG - i should label other keys with other letters.. what letters should i use?

b-c and E-F and C

they still in abcdefg ?

you are fractionally distillating the notes.

is there a H note?
Report Foinavon June 15, 2016 12:38 AM BST
The convention is to label the other notes sharp/flat and correspond to the black keys on your keyboard. For example A sharp and B flat are the same note and has a frequency approximately midway between A and B.
If your keyboard doesn't have black keys then the chances are it is limited to the key of C which means 5 notes have been omitted from each octave. I have a harmonica which is in the key of C and it has 10 holes, it is called a "diatonic" harmonica. The other major type of harmonica called "chromatic" has more holes, usually 12, and a slider which allows all 12 notes in each octave to be played.
I am not fractionally distillating the notes, no hooch here.Devil
There is no H note.
Keyboards should be played, get it down from the attic and bang out those chords. Nobody's listening if you hit a wrong note or two and you'll feel better for it.

nope - lost me. I just know why there's seven colours in the original spectrum. isaac newton thought there was seven notes? dig him up and tell him he's wrong.

i know they have a more complicated spectrum now with invisible wave lengths. gamma and radio etc.

A dozen or so European countries have a `H` note. It`s what we call a `B`, with their `B` corresponding to our `B flat`.
