'Is that the deepest Shag you've had this year ?' says one of the lesser presenters to a blushing female scientist who was measuring the diving depth of Shags in the sea.ShockedLaugh

Why do most people who hate Magpies quite like Jays??.   It is a serious question.
Report themightymac • June 13, 2016 9:54 PM BST
Probably because of the colours. Birdists.

Hi Mac - people always prefer colour to black and white!!!  Got my Granddaughter collecting feathers now, she started pressing flowers now feathers are the thing.  Mind you that Jay blue interwing feather is pretty something.

We have a quite a lot of Jays but since we started controlling the Magpies, songbirds seem to be coping better. Got four Songthrush nests within 50 yards of the house (Two flown, one nearly and one just hatched).  Still too many squrrels though; we must eat more of them.

Nice Hoopoe, and I guess that's a **** linnet is it.

Thanks coachbuster.  I hadn't realised that you cannot say **** linnet, which presumably means you cannot say cockroach or peacock either.
Report blackbarn • June 30, 2016 10:55 AM BST
so it is **** followed by a space that's the problem.  I should have said cocklinnet.
