Q.) Can European citizens vote in referendum ?

Ans.) Citizens from other European countries - apart from Ireland, Malta and Cyprus - will not get a vote on whether the UK remains part of the EU.

Malta and Cyprus are both Commonwealth countries.

^ Still doesn't explain the Irish entitlement angle.

Ireland and UK have reciprocal voting arrangements.

So a Brit can vote on Irish plebicites if they live in Ireland.

Clouseau knows his stuff, another interesting fact is anyone born in Ireland before April 1949, was both British and Irish as Ireland was only a free state but still a Dominion of Britain with a sworn allegiance to the Crown. The history of Briton and Ireland is entwined in many ways especially law.

When you say Ireland inspector, are you referring to Eire or N.Ireland?
