Is this a trick question?

Assuming it's not then 17.5 x Stake

if a train goes north for fifteen minutes... and another train goes south for ten minutes... do teacher's deserve a pay rise?

with a question like that it's probably best to have a few goes in practice mode to see if it's for you

Forget the spreads, they are potentially dangerous and stick with exchanges.

If I bought Van Gerwin at 32.5 and the maximum points for winning the tournament are 50, then I would lose 32.5 x my stake.

Hope this helps.

That may be incorrect if its 50 to win a tournament the usual practice may be 25 for runner up & 10 for losing semi finalists

No he would be out in the first round if I backed him.

I had 16 years of playing on the spreads so many ups and downs.

One of the lowlights was the B+h Golf in 2000 at the start of the tournament I had bought Harrington to win. As I waited for the fourth round to start with Harrington holding a 5 shot lead and playing some fantastic golf it was going to take a collapse of immense proportions. News then came through that Harrington had not signed his first round card and so faced disqualification.

If I remember rightly it was a turnaround of about £700 for me.

One game I took a risk on was in the World Cup of 2002, Germany v Saudi Arabia. By combining Supremacy and Total Goals (Buy) Germany had to score 3 to break even. I just couldn't see them failing to get 3 so I backed them at £1000 a goal and prayed they didn't have an off day. For every German goal thereafter I was to gain another grand with no fear of paying it back. Germany won 8-0!

I will add that even though I won this bet I stopped playing the spreads several years later in a losing position. It's a tough nut to crack.
