I was talking with my brother. He knows all there is to know about paints. I said that I needed to decorate again and said I'll need to buy two tins to paint my living room and hall. What paint is best? I had a leaflet in my hand and it had Dulux heavily featured. He said buy Glidden or Leyland they're trade paint that covers in one coat. Dulux is crap as it yellows as soon as it goes on... why? Because EU rules made them take out something which stopped it yellowing.
So DULUX will not get my money because of some spurious EU rule. The same EU that's okay with putting unfermented SOYA flour into Bread.
wasn't cancerous? everything is cancerous? eat red meat yer in trouble? chlorine in water? soy in bread, e numbers. air pollution. seriously - i want to paint a wall once and it to last ten years. not turn yellow in a year.

Glidden was purchased by ICI the makers of Dulux in the early 1980s. ICI (including the Glidden subsidiary) have since been purchased by AKZO Nobel (Dutch company) the makers of Crown. The paint industry used to be very competitive but since consumers were not prepared to pay an economic price for paint the inevitable happened and the competition has all but disappeared.

I don't remember Matt Bianco writing one about the White Paint, much to my surprise. He should have got out of his lazy bed. He'd have done it in half a minute.

Buy Farrow and Ball paint, the whites are already a nice yellow when you put it on.
In all seriousness, doesn't the Dulux yellowing story relate to the change in the composition of their Satinwood (woodwork/metal) paint. The Brilliant White doesn't last apparently. There'll be a P and D along in a mo to explain.
