I was wondering how The Sun would react to yesterdays news. Well….
Its the only major paper (apart from its sister paper, The Times) that doesn't think it worthy of front page coverage.

There was an inquiry of some sort with the results released 3 or 4 years ago. Don't know which inquiry it was, there seem to be loads of them. I think the Sun headline the day after it was "Hillsborough: The real truth"* They went on to catalogue the findings from this investigation and how it wasn't the fault of the fans and the police had lied and covered up etc. fk me even the coroner was in on the cover up. I don't know if they expressly apologised. I'm not sticking up for them at all, it is toilet paper. Even the star had it on its front page, fk me, they never have proper news on their front paper.
(*for those that don't know their infamous headline from back in the day was "Hillsborough: The truth, then they went on to slander Liverpool fans based on a pack of lies) |

Read today that McKenzie phoned Dalgleish at the time and asked him how he could repair the damage.
Dalgleish told him to print in big letters We Lied on the front page. McKenzie said he couldn't do that so Dalgleish hung up on him and has refused to deal with him ever since. |
