Absolutely wonderful songwriter and performer who always seemed to be really enjoying what he did.
The TV programme mentioned earlier on this thread really is a tearjerker
but the bloke is always trying to laugh or smile throughout.
Terrible for anyone to be cut down by this awful illness and the impact on family and friends devastating.

Many years ago he was a much sought after session man but he could not read the dots. So the MD would go through the motions with the band and Campbell would make out to read his part. When the band struck up he would busk it. Wonderful chap.
