Double the number of celebrities have died in the first three months of this year compared to 2015, figures show.
According to research by BBC Radio 4 show More or Less, 24 celebrity obituaries have been written already this year compared to just 12 over the same time period in 2015. The organisation says the spike is probably down to a boom in the number of celebrities born in the 1950s - when there was more ways to be famous than before. |

very much shocked - i marvelled that she never aged in the last twenty years. Could pass as a 45 year old. More shocking that someone who looked so healthy has passed.
Not a fan of most women comedians, but she was funny. a genuine talent and a lovely woman. |

Such sad news, she was very talented and 62 is no age.

By:
I agree with Slippy , sad news indeed
|

62 is a decent innings when there are now over 200 different types of cancers, 200 years ago not many people were dying from this disease.
|
|
By:
200 years ago they were dying young from other things which are now no longer a threat. The big C will be conquered one day, but not in my lifetime.
RIP Victoria Wood |

I know that but points being it feels like with so many unconquered diseases we're all dodging bullets, if our diet was as clean as 200 years ago we would avoid many of the cancers that people are diagnosed with, they had deficiencies with a lack of certain vitamins but there was at least no processed foods like there are today, western diet is to blame for a lot. And stress.
|
|
By:
very sad, a talented actor, I thought she was funny, r.i.p
|
|
By:
Our diet may not as healthy as 200 years ago, but is probably a good deal tastier
There were a lot of other things we died from then, children did not necessarily survive to adulthood that was considered normal. |

Life expectancy today is nearly double what it was 200 years ago.
62 years is young nowadays. RIP |
|

Think people are missing my point, if we went back to not consuming processed foods, whilst having the advantage of today's advances in medicine, the number of people suffering from Diabetes and cancers would drop significantly, there were not many cases of either before the introduction of sucrose laden foods which seems to be in everything.
62 is young to some but when so many go at that age and younger to such common illnesses like cancer it's not exactly a great surprise. |

That Acorn Antiques was brilliant, very sad at this news, Bowie, Lemmy, Corbett and now this, not been a great start to the year for celebs
