90 percent of all remakes are mince. but there are exceptions.

hollywood turned the french film the return of Martin Guerre into Somersby? with Richard Gere( terrible actor).

I noticed a while ago that tv movies, usually shown in the afternoons, are sometimes picked up and redone asbig budget films. They get Tom Cruise or Keannu Reeves to star in them.

name a bad remake....

A sequel is not a remake.

That said, I don't hold out great hopes for the film. The book was easily the worst Welsh novel I've read.

There's been a number of Robin Hood remakes but Errol Flynn's version is still the best for me with Olivia De Havilland (still alive and will be 100 in July!!).

Bad remakes hmmm??? Get Carter with Sylvester Stallone and The Italian Job with that Wahlberg or whatever his name was, they need to be buried in the desert IMHO.

None of the King Kong remakes are a patch on the 1933 original.

Titanic, the Joseph Goebbels original 1943 is surprisingly good and a few scenes/ideas were used by Cameron for his effort.
