In parliament for referring to Cameron as 'dodgy dave' again then followed up with 'do what you like' knowing he'd be sent off for it.
Good old Dennis Laugh

While sir Alan Duncan made some remarkably demeaning references to those he believed to be under achievers and holding wealth in contempt.

Cameron played a card in the commons yesterday where he attempted to rally support to a captive audience of MPs who he suggested shouldn't have to release tax returns......many on both sides I'm sure absolutely bricking it at the thought because for all of the truths that can be extracted from these returns one I suspect is pretty universal and that is of philanthropy......or lack there of.
How much relief is claimed I wonder by those members each year for charitable causes?

Skinner is a grandstanding tw@t.

He was in the process of making a very good point re tax affairs and had Cameron on the ropes - then goes all abusive and Class War.

Skinner is a smart operator in his own interests.
He amuses everyone with his tantrums, but achieves little except to make himself popular with his followers.
That's what he's always been about, simply cementing his position as an MP.

Takes responsibility for nothing, yet appears to be a thorn in the side of those who do.
Nice work if you can get it.

Yet where was he when Labour was rubbing the noses of his constituents in diversity, and turning a home buying society into a society of renters?

Which tells us all we need to know about Mr Denis Skinner.

Wiki :
In the 2004–2005 sitting of the House he claimed the least expenses for an MP who served the full year.[38] He has never been a member of an All-Party Parliamentary Group;[39] does not eat alongside parliamentary colleagues in the Commons dining room; does not take trips or holidays paid for by others; never drinks in the Commons Bar; and stays in the House of Commons during the Queen's Speech at the State Opening of Parliament, as he advocates outright abolition of the House of Lords.

He usually sits on the first seat of the front bench below the gangway in the Commons (known as the "Awkward Squad Bench" because it is where rebel Labour Party MPs have traditionally sat) in a tweed jacket (whilst most other MPs wear suits) and signature red tie. He gained the sobriquet "the Beast of Bolsover" for falling foul of the procedures of Parliament.

Considering the commons is a nest of vipers Skinner is one of very few who can hold his head up on many an issue.

The place is full of turncoat MFs who took a shilling and need their feet holding to the fire.

Dennis is a career politician and has done well out of politics but what has he achieved?
Not disputing some of the points you're making dusty but Skinner is no hero.

Considering the manufactured rhetoric, double speak and contrived intent of both sides of the house on a regular basis for me Skinner represents a look back to slightly more innocent times before we became as entrenched in the self at all cost spiv oriented speculation where those doing nowt are seen to be virtuous like modern day Gomorrah figures.

He gives me a right old chuckle long let him continue I say.

He would indeed, Casemoney.

I loved watching him on the BBC website early this morning when I saw the clip.

And whilst he may have been better off not using the 'Dodgy Dave' reference, as he was nailing Cameron at the time and you could see Cameron squirming in his seat thinking of a reply - which he then didn't have to give as Dennis was ejected - at least you know Skinner IS a man of principle and no way would he retract the remark when it was totally true.

He's about the only 'real' person in the Commons these days.

On the plus side he has done a good few honest days graft in his life unlike most MP's and he can be witty in a very obvious way but we can't get away from the fact that he is also a liar and a hypocrite.

Anyone who slags of the Tories can get a cheer from the plebs.

The trouble with Skinner is that is all he is capable of.

It's significant that he's never been given any position in a ministry of a Labour government.

Without looking up what it was exactly, wasn't it the destruction of clause 4 which could give a significant answer to why that was crippen?
When you are a government who has a framed picture of thatcher on the wall and appeal to the greedy sensibilities of the general public simply to harvest votes to gain power rather than being the party that bared it's name then skinner has no place.

It might explain why he wasn't considered for a job under Blair.

It doesn't explain why during the Labour government of 1974-1979 he wasn't offered anything.

He's been an MP since 1970.

Absolutely, and Cameron too if it comes to that.

Although Cameron did make it onto the opposition front bench.
So his card was marked for some position if the Tories got into power even if he didn't win the leadership.
