Interesting statement, so perhaps people should not attack Muslims?

Most Muslims came to this country for economic reasons....we let them in even encouraged them, so who are the stupid ones here

Well done China they have rejected a claim made for Gay Marriage...a victory for us straightsLaugh

The couple? said Chinese Law did not actually forbid Gay Marriage...

Probably because no one believed anyone would attempt this ridiculous claim

Yes Alan

For those who live their lives with a sub-idiot's Freudian worldview, if you express some disquiet about going on a camping holiday with the lead singer of Erasure, you're as good as opening the poppers and the man-glide.

Quite right.  Just cos someone is obsessed with something doesn't mean they have any interest in it.

Homophobia is a word made up by gays to label anyone who disagree with anything they say as a bad person....it is drivel!

Why did we not have referendum on gay marriage, people may well have voted for it, so why was it just forced on us, that is hardly democraticSad
By:

My guess is that such a referendum would have cost a fortune, been met with complete indifferent by 80% of the population and set a precedent for loads of other people to vent their spleen and demand referendums (referenda?) for every decision we elect our politicians to make, in the name of furthering democracy.
By:

There is precedent here.
We had one in Ireland and it was carried with a fair majority on a huge turnout.

I was against but accept the majority decision.
One thing that does grate is the gay lobby are still demanding, still lobbying.
They have now moved to transgender and intersex, its never ending.

a referendum would have resulted in gay marriage being legalised. public opinion was massively behind it in the UK. So i'd say given that there's plenty of stuff passed by governments which goes against public opinion, this was certainly one of the more democratic pieces of legislation.

the only valid complaint anyone can have against gay marriage is that it alters the meaning of the union they have with their partner and that they object to this. I have considered that they should probably campaign for a new type of civil union called **** & Fanny super-hetero union, or something a bit more snappy if they choose which should only be available for heterosexual couples; much in the same way that civil unions are only available to homosexual couples.

you do seem awfully worried by homosexuality ebul. are you aware of the sexual behaviour of the bonobo chimpanzee?

I recently went to Las Vegas for the first time, and on my last day, decided to chill out at the spa for a bit.
I’d never been to a spa before, so the guy in charge gave me some simple instructions, ending with “Clothing is optional”. I was a bit surprised, and decided to put my swimming trunks on as I’d planned.

I went into the Jacuzzi, and there was a naked bloke lounging around in it. Blimey, I thought, it looks like clothing really is optional here. I wondered whether I should follow suit. Then an older naked bloke walked in and it was settled. No fecking way was I going to be the only one with trunks on, so off they came.

It was a bit weird just sitting around starkers not saying anything, but I didn’t know what the etiquette was in this sort of situation. Is it weirder to talk to a naked guy or just sit around in silence with a naked guy? But on the way back from the steam room, I missed a step in the Jacuzzi because of all the bubbles, and fell over in it. Then I had to say something because it was too awkward to stay silent.

It was fine having a conversation, so I did the same with the older bloke in the sauna when the first guy left. He was Canadian, he’d rented a Harley Davidson the day before and ridden to the Grand Canyon, he…

…was looking at my knob.

No. It must have been my imagination, I thought, so I carried on talking to him. But after a while, I noticed his right arm was sort of moving rhythmically, just like he was playing with his old chap. The problem, was, I couldn’t be sure without looking at his knob, which I thought could really exacerbate matters. After a while, though, he was definitely looking at my knob again, which gave me the chance to look at his knob and yes, he was indeed playing with it. It wasn’t, um, in an engorged state, but he was clearly going beyond the bounds of normal social behaviour. Even if it was my first time in a spa, I knew that.

So I decided I’d had enough of the sauna and went back into the Jacuzzi, but he followed me in and sat rather close to me, still fiddling about with his old fellow and looking me up and down.

Unfortunately for my anecdote, that’s where the story fizzles out, but the point is that the whole way through, I was finding the whole situation absolutely hilarious, being propositioned by a big old moustachioed gáy Canadian biker. And he was actually touching himself and staring at me.

And some of you want separate changing rooms just because a gáy bloke might look at you! Do you think in a moment of madness you’re going to cave in and need to buy a cushion on the way home or something?

Yes Dstyle but this not replace reproductive sex in these animals does it, otherwise the species would be extinct.

It has a different function, as it does in humans...therefore it is reasonable we do not call it marriage, that is for heterosexuals

only, as it has been for all of human existence except for now.

I was brought to believe marriage was between a man and a women....I still do...I am too old to change my view...I see no need.

I do not know why you dig at me over my own possible homosexuality??????????

I can dig back and say that everybody who supports gay marriage must be homosexual themselves??????

So digging me out is rather pointless, stick to the arguments

It is not only same sex marriage I oppose.

I oppose DIVORCE, I oppose women having children outside marriage, I oppose men getting women pregnant and refusing to marry them.

I want a return to 1950's values, although I scarce remember the decade, being very young.

I think society suffers every time we denigrate marriage.

People have always been gay and always will be, that I accept, I don't stop them.

so if two people, regardless of gender, started a family and were devoted to each other and their children and were outstanding parents, but simply chose never to formalise their relationship by getting married, you'd be opposed to that?

that would be worse than two neglectful parents in a loveless and acrimonious marriage.

I have to accept that it seems for once I was wrong. Laugh

I was ambivalent about the issue but feared some in the gay mafia would make the life of conscience objecting clergy a living hell. For once we seem to have reached a very British compromise and things seem to be moving along reasonably nicely.

Being one of the relative few happy in married life I see no reason why the usual misery of marriage shouldn't also be foisted onto gays as well as heteros.

Please don't be offended by my question ebul. I can imagine that someone of your vintage may find the very thought appalling but I can confirm it is all the rage these days and has been for two or three decades on the continent. Of course a gentleman like myself was constrained by etiquette. I remember when I was at Uni when we were out on the beers I was informed that a mathematical analysis had been done and there was a 95% chance of any one night stand having my finger up their bum. It was only polite to start off delicately. Grin
