Thinking of treating myself to a trip to Barbados or elsewhere in the Caribbean next February.
Looking for suggestions from experienced chit chat gold members, where to go and where not to go etc.

They race on Saturdays at The Garrison in February. It's an absolute MUST DO. Watch how excited the natives get in the public stand Happy, absolutely brilliant atmosphere.

Try St Maartens.

Dutch part of the islands and get some great deals on diamonds for the loved one!

I like Barbados, though it is very expensive when you are there.

I really enjoyed the US Virgin Islands of St John and St Thomas.

Would avoid The Bahamas.  Sort of like the American Benidorm (though not quite that awful!)

West coast is like a paradise. But the east coast is a serene idyll - especially Bathsheba - more north coast than east but the Atlantic provides a very different setting to the Caribbean.

Otherwise, Oistins on a Friday night and as suggested the horse racing are musts.

Went to Barbados in 1997, girlfriend's granddad had 2 houses there, middle ones in the link below.
Heard it's changed a lot now with all inclusives but it's it was a lovely slightly antwacky place.

I don't think the phrase 'she's a keeper' had been coined back then CryCryCry
