It stinks, how can they decide that you cant film protests against the government?
It goes hand in glove with other ideas thought up by government; like the restrictions on strikes and the cutting of the short payments that are specifically designed for the party in opposition to hold the government to account. It doesn't exactly instill in me the idea that this is a democratic nation. |

its so silly stunts cant be pulled with a compliant media ,and prob a good rule .
The problem of keeping PC and avoiding the uneasiness of able bodies policing a disabled protest would easily be negated if they put cops in wheelchairs ,problem solved imo . |

People arnt forced to watch the news, the news is the news of the events that are happening. If people feel obliged to hold the government to account then who are the government or any politician to say it cant be filmed on the premises? That very point is democracy of which you speak, not the manipulation and opaqueness of those who wish us not to see what is happening |

I finally got to that link Degs, think you need to put the '.' on the line above. This is basing itself in semantics. The technicality outlined is that the protest wasnt relevant to the days proceedings.....which is total horse 5hit as the news doesnt books days to make news. If something happens, and it did then it should be free for the press to report it. That is the point, doesnt matter how contrived they attempt to make it. |

I take most with a pinch of salt, we all have an opinion, crippen's tends to be rather old school but thats the way it is.
What he cant do is get precious after making comments that are intrinsically vitriolic. (supposed to be ill-ffs) I rather suspect hes getting left behind, the irony is the time will come when he too is less able and I wonder if he will then be as dogmatic? |
