The cockney guy on the panel always makes me think he's a lost drummer for an 80s Ska band who actually meant to go on Jools Holland's show but picked the wrong door.

It's nice of Tamzin to show her green credentials by wearing recycled dish cloths.

SNP bird utterly clueless. Economist guy absolutely right. Sugar tax pointless and will make no difference. As someone who worked in the soft drinks industry for 15 years, the industry couldn't care less about public health, and any tax costs will be passed on spread across all drinks. ie, Price of Coke & diet Coke will go up equally, as will waters, juices, and so on.

I would

I guess the Cap'n must have been arrested for throwing chairs @ Old Trafford..

Anyone who buys soft drinks a lot will have notice they mess with sizes anyway, that's what changes.
It used to be pretty much standard that it was 2L or 1L. Now AFAIK they've got 1.75L, 1.5L, 1.25L and it appears to continue to make the sale at the chosen price point. Watch for smaller containers at the same price. Also they often sell at 2 bottles for £2 and so on, mix and match, if diet is a different price to sugar that wont work, so will diet buyers subsidise the sugar buyers? |

Thornberry told to STFU by dimbleby for talking over someone else, who could have seen that coming?

Hi Guinness.
Are you enjoying Cheltenham? |
|
By:
JC - different sizes were introduced because they make different prices available to different supermarket groups. Otherwise everyone demanded the same deals & pricing as their competitors. ie, when you did a deal with Tesco, it meant that ASDA , Sainsburys, Morrisons and so on would demand it too. Varying the pack size by grocer meant deals & pricing wouldn't be comparable. I know, I worked on it for two years. Millions were spent on setting up new manufacturing lines.
You are right that mixed pricing won't work. |

Hello EK.
I am indeedy. Although my liver gave me a kick earlier and said "Enoughs enough big lad" |
|
By:
Danno, but my point stands, they may for example push the 1.5L at the same price as they used to sell 1.75 and so on down the scale. Coke seems much more into it than Pepsi mind you.

Thornberry has lost a lot of weight. She may be moving into the green zone on akabula's sh*g-o-meter What do you mean by moving into? She's never been out of it. |

Haven't watched it yet. Will do shortly despite Tasmina getting right up my nose.
The stupid cow is an advocate for allowing Sharia law into our country. |

I actually found myself thinking she was looking ok, I must be ill. Horrible woman though!

"Conservatives and Labour believe SNP MP Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh has "serious questions" to answer over criticism of a charity she founded. An investigation by the Herald newspaper reported that the Scottish Asian Women's Association (Sawa) spent only 2.8% of its income on donations."

SNP MP Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh under fire after accusations her charity didn't gave away enough of its cash
THE Scottish Asian Women's Association received £16,000 from the Scottish Government at their launch, but donated just £700 of their £25,000 income while she was in charge. “The only tangible thing SAWA appear to have promoted is the public image of Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh. We need clarification on what grounds SAWA were supported. The SNP Government should also release all correspondence and documentation relating to these grants.” She refuses to answer questions on the matter. |

Very arrogant woman but then again that seems a trait amongst the SNP MPs.

Another stupid SNP woman on This Week trying to say (again) that other countries have deficits, therefore a Scottish deficit isn't be a problem, no matter how big. Like saying 1p on your credit card is the same problem as £10 billion..
|
|
By:
Had to laugh at Tasmina talking about 'imposing' the change to Academies.
Isn't that what governments generally do. FFS what about the 'Named Person Policy' that is being imposed in Scotland |
|
By:
And Tory austerity. Despite the fact that the SNP have had the devolved powers to address the issue but have continually failed to do so.
|
|
By:
On the deficit JC had to laugh at sturgeons respons to Andrew Neil on how she would have dealt with it.
The normal shake of the head and sigh then "Same as the Tories did in ............" ![]() ![]() How peep can still vote for this mob is a mystery. |

Nicky Morgan stood her ground despite all the attacks. Very accomplished politician.
Agree trilby, Tasmina is a walking disaster. Wants sharia law to be accepted in this country. |

Suggestions by a cabinet minister that the government may back down over cuts to disability benefit have been played down amid a growing Conservative row.
Education Secretary Nicky Morgan described the plan as a "suggestion" and said it was "under consultation". But sources close to Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith said her comments don't "tally with what we and Downing Street are saying". The BBC was told Mrs Morgan didn't "seem to understand" the proposals. |

I can't get the link to work trilby but if you type in her name then and sharia law that'll take you to an article on it.
