A sign that I'm no longer as spry as I once was - took my boy bowling and hurt my back ffs CryLaugh Right now just taking ibuprofen and using a heating pad. Any other tricks to help get better? I was doing some weights prior to this, but I have a feeling I maybe wasn't addressing the back muscles as much as I should.

Sometimes rest is the best cure Hank.
I spent a fortune on treatment for my back and neck a few years ago.
It seemed to make no difference at all, although I did enjoy my visits to the Thai massage place.
It was also suggested that I take up yoga...I went once and never returned.

I was diagnosed with lumbago eight years ago. Doctor told me it would be gone within six weeks. Still have it but probably down to my lifestyle. (punting online)

Sadly yes. Bad backs are troublesome. Upper back disc problems are even worse and cause all manner of strange side effects.

HI HANK,let me give you a stat, out of every 100 who complained of bad back with pain 84% were cured when they walked in shoes with no heels for 3 days.get slippers for the house and a good pair of flat shoes for outdoor use.it will work wonders.
Report brassneck • February 16, 2016 10:54 PM GMT
this stat was discovered during the years 1968-1974 when platform shoes were the fashion.

Wear a weightlifting belt at all times (not just when lifting)  whilst your back is "bad".
Report Paddy Hair • February 19, 2016 2:02 AM GMT
I tried the weightlifting belt when I had a bad back, I couldn't get it through the loops on my trousers gave up in the end.

ibro will mess with your stomach and heart. bleeds.
walk even if you suffer for it - the next day you feel the benefit.
eat sunflower seeds - packed with omega oils, different from fish. see the benefit after a few weeks.
stay out of bed, except to sleep.
