Two of our most impressive victory's Crecy and Agincourt were made possible by our Longbow men

They set up an enfilade shield of arrows in front of our Army, and said to the French get through that

They did not

They later adapted to out tactics..a pity

Interesting series on BBC4 recently on the Crusades, current thinking is we went out there to reclaim Jerusalem

for Christianity, and by killing Muslims(as well as Jews and Eastern Christians...we could not tell the difference),

then all our earthly sins would be forgiven and we would earn our place in Heaven. This was quite genuine.


What we claim Muslims do now, and I think at least some of them do, but it is not exclusive to them.
