If the eggheads where allowed to bring Daphne i'd fancy them to win. If not the chasers. Be close tough. They should do this for charity some day. Be excellent tv.

Both teams have members who are in for  diversity reasons, naturally the BBC have
more with the black guy, the  gay guy and the new female. The Chasers only have Sean
and maybe the new female. On the buzzers the Chasers would win, on a written test Kevin
would probably be first.

Eggheads have the two best quiz experts in the UK in Pat and Kevin. Chasers have a couple in the top 40, no betetr. Eggheads would win very comfortably.

1/8 Eggheads
6/1 Chasers

I agree with Dan.

Buzzers make a huge difference.

Played in a quiz league of 2 regional divisions in the early 90s where the top 4 went through to finals night.
The QM decided it would be fun to introduce buzzers for finals night, which was totally different
to the normal format, and to add to the "fun" an independent scorer would only give the result at the end of the contest.

Our captain, who was our best player normally, totally froze, and although we scraped into the semis,
she was dropped at her request.

We made it to the final. At the end, our scorer had us winning by 2 points, their scorer had us winning by a point,
and the independent scorer had the other team winning by a point.
The QM went with the independent scorer because it was his Mum. Laugh

Depends how difficult the questions are.  If they are difficult Eggheads all day long.  Kevin a class apart imho
Report Platini • February 2, 2016 6:14 PM GMT
They should play over 2 legs home and away

Eggheads would win the home leg comfortably if they play a full strength side (must include Daphne and Kevin, and NOT include Judith and CJ)

The return leg would be a lot closer and make fascinating TV. I'd give the Eggheads a great chance of doing well in the cash builders - they could build an enormous pot and most likely get 4 in the final.

But I have my doubts they'd be quick enough on the buzzer to get a big enough score in the final chase. Anything less than 25 and I'd back the Governess or the Beast to catch them.

Let's face it it will never happen 'The Chase' is a huge Teatime hit
whilst Eggheads is tucked away on BBC2.

Reckon Kevin would be 8/11 vs the chasers on his own
Report Platini • February 2, 2016 8:04 PM GMT
I'd have deadly Daphne before Kevin.
Report Sica Dan • February 2, 2016 9:43 PM GMT
daphne has been retired for 2 years.

This is a tweet from egghead's Lisa Thiel

Filming: Jeremy just asked Judith if she's ever been taken up the Yangtze
Report Platini • February 3, 2016 10:00 AM GMT
Didn't know that. I haven't watched Eggheads for about 2 years Laugh

Anyway, retired or not, Daphne was (and prob still is) No.1 egghead.
Report anfeild • February 3, 2016 10:33 AM GMT
Yeah Daphne was the unreal. She won 15 to 1 without getting a question wrong in the final. Kevin and her are on a different level to the rest of the eggheads. The irish guy is quite good. It would be a close contest but depends on the format. Would love to see it done.

Chit Chatters in the Winchester area might like to know Ashman plays
for the King Alfred.
Report Mikael D'Haguenet • February 3, 2016 11:25 AM GMT
Not a fan of either show but Kevin shats all over Daphne. She'd give the Chasers a game though.
Report johnizere • February 3, 2016 11:33 AM GMT
Always amazed me how the eggheads nearly always come up with the correct answer on a 'lucky guess'
That's not to say I don't admire their excellent knowledge about almost any subject.
Report Ozymandius • February 3, 2016 12:45 PM GMT
Kevin way ahead of Daphne.  I think I would rank Pat #2.
Report Platini • February 3, 2016 5:45 PM GMT
Kevin is superb with all the academic stuff (he's a real University Challenge type boffin) but he's weak on sport, modern culture (popular music, TV, celebs etc)
whereas Daphne is a complete all rounder - she hardly ever lost a H2H. Always seemed like she was lucky guessing at times but I don't believe it. She's just deadly.
Report SlippyBlue • February 3, 2016 5:51 PM GMT
I would make The Chasers odds on favourites.
4/7 - The Chasers
6/4 - Eggheads
Report portmanpark • February 3, 2016 6:19 PM GMT
a few of the chasers failed to get on the eggheads............eggheads 2\9.................chasers 3\1
Report Mikael D'Haguenet • February 3, 2016 6:28 PM GMT
I'm with you PP. Slippy would get filled in at 6/4.

As for individuals, Kevin is a multiple world and European Champion. Daphne is a multiple 15-to-1 champion.
Report donny osmond • February 3, 2016 6:31 PM GMT
eggheads 1/10

as above some of the chasers are failed eggheads

daphne, pat, kevin, chris, barry would be tough be a tough to beat team

cj, , tremendous knowledge, judith, lisa....might struggle a bit
Report Sica Dan • February 3, 2016 7:22 PM GMT
The eggheads have been beaten over a hundred times and all 5 have lost
several times to just one very average pub quizzer. The format is ****
in favour of the public, there is always one tough question among the
last six and if the eggheads get it there is usually no way to retrieve it.

ps Daphne was on bullseye way back and failed to win Bullys star prize.
Report Platini • February 4, 2016 6:59 PM GMT
Just watched The Chase tonight and one of the worst contestants I've ever seen. She kept buzzing for every question, and got it wrong most of the time. Never seen so many wrong answers. The worst one was on a pushback, how many horns does a white rhino have? Chaser has already said 3 and looked gutted when he was told it was wrong, so its obvious now what the answer is, right ?

But no, this bint thinks its ONE Surprised

grow a brain cell, FFS ! LaughLaugh

think fatty\ the governess and the barrister all tried and failed to get on eggheads
Report cardifffc • February 4, 2016 7:09 PM GMT
barry beat the barrister in the final and think fatty went out first round...........think the governess didn't get much further..........remember the posh guy who was a wants to be a millionaire winner tried and failed
