What would you expect them to say at the end of an inquiry?

I'd expect them to tell the truth.

If they haven't got any hard evidence then admit that they don't know.

I suppose it's not too late for him to burst out of his grave with mutant superpowers. I live in hope.

But why would they say that when they have concluded on the balance of probabilities their conclusion is he was involved? That the most an inquiry can do. It's meaningless in terms of any guilt as it's not a trial but it's naive to think that the conclusion of a inquiry is like a trial.

Dont the reactions to this inquiry tell you something about the words used in the findings are incorrect, calling for sanctions & expelling of Russian diplomats.

You cannot use the word probably if you have no proof.

The hierachy at the BBC 'probably' approved the cover ups and denials surrounding the now infamous serial sex offender Jimmy Savile.

They didn`t say it was probable that Litvinenko was murdered. The inquiry said that they were sure that it was the Russians who killed him and have the evidence to prove it.

There is a very good chance that they have video evidence.

You can not into any hotel in Mayfair without being on camera. The evidence is conclusive. But they need to get the extradition of the 2 suspects to bring it to court.

And Russia does Not Extradite its Citizens to Foreign Powers.

If Russia does not extradite its citizens to Britain then it is clearly a danger allowing any Russian foreign national into Britain.

A 15 year ban on all Russian citizens coming to Britain would be a starting point.

We soon see how much Britain values virtue when we just look at the figures.
The Balance of payments deficit is '4.2pc of GDP, the second highest annual figure since WWII and the biggest deficit of any major industrialised economy in the world.'

I hope you are not blaming that on the oligarchs as well, or would it be worse without them?
By:

It would be significantly worse without.
Those russian criminals spending money from ill gotten gains over here make the balance of payments balls up almost look respectable.

Now Putin won`t extradite them because if found guilty this will lead directly back to him....this is why it is wrong to say there is no evidence.

What the idea behind us keep falling out with Russia?

How come one dead Russian is such a big deal?

They're talking about 1 million dead in Iraq, and we're taking the Russians to task over one dead man.

And got royally snubbed....(even after handing out cough cough, 'gifts' to cough make life a little, cough, easier for the decision makers)

More than 850 Russian oligarchs and Chinese millionaires have won the right to live in Britain in the last five years under a scheme which has little benefit for British citizens, official government advisers have disclosed.
Professor Sir David Metcalf, chairman of the Home Office’s Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), said the government had effectively been “giving away” visas to some of the world’s wealthiest people.
A report by the committee revealed 433 Russian millionaires have come to this country since 2008 under an “investor” visa scheme which allows successful applicants to live in Britain in return for a minimum £1 million investment in government gilts - effectively a loan - but does not grant them a UK passport.
Another 419 super-wealthy Chinese used the scheme.
The third largest group was US citizens, who made just 96 applications over the five years.
------------------------
December 2014
A growing number of multimillionaire Russians are using "investor" visas to fast track their residency and become a British citizen in just six years.
The total of 162  fast-track visas were issued to Russians between January and September this year - up from 96 in the same period last year.
Figures show there was a hike in visa applications after March - when the first round of sanctions were imposed on Russia.
The Russian investors have to invest a minimum of £2million in to the country in order to secure these visas, which are approved in less than 24 hours in some cases.
After five years, they can apply for a permanent residency permit and citizenship on year later.
However individuals taking advantage of the scheme and wish to permanently settle in the UK within just three years can stake a minimum of £5 million or more.
This drops to two years if they invest £10 million.
The number of fast-track visas issued to Russians in 2014 was 69 per cent higher than in the same period the year before.
According to Kamal Rahman, a lawyer at Mishcon De Reya - which handles the applications - said around half of the Russians taking advantage of this scheme usually stake more than £5 Million.

Dangerous terminology that could lead to an escalation and possible confrontation with Russia, are they barmy ? Every one with a grievance will be coming to UK expecting our courts to support them and for us to send a gunboat to get them justice ? I just cant wait for the first claims company to sue the british government for not getting their client's justice.

Nothing to do with this story but a story about a Russian olligarch. A friend of mine was invited on a super yatch by this Russian he's pretty pally with at a boat show in Monaco last summer. He took a girl from his company on with him. Anyway the girl became the object of one of the Russians desires, but it soon crossed the line of harassment and the girl, a bit of a feisty Londoner gave her admirer a loud rebuke. The main man, the 'olligarch' suddenly lost his temper at what he said was ill treatment of his guests, so walked over to this bloke shouted in his face, smacked him in the head a few times, and then lifted him over the rails off the boat where the victim duly went flying into the sea. This mate of mine said it was pure theatre and like something out of a film. Anyway the guy didn't risk coming back onto the boat and apparently a good evening was had by all. Laugh
