Give it up Tony and just be thankful you've got a strong Conservative government looking after you. You've never had it so good son.

Your links don't get any better tony.

What do you find so difficult in copy and pasting a link that works?

Here use this:

tony, It's not as simple as you are trying to make out.
There's a lot more to it than simply comparing one figure with another like the Indi has done there.

They're taking the total costs of the project against the cost of simply paying the ones that fail.
Without taking into consideration the spiralling cost of paying all comers.
Also think of all the bogus claims that the tests discourage which aren't included in the figures

Then we have to consider that the costs of the tests aren't a total loss, in contrast to benefits which are.
Because it finds certain people jobs and they pay tax and insurance out of their wages, and the company pays tax on their profits.

If after taking all that into consideration the figures still don't stack up, then they night consider charging the claimants themselves for the tests.

I don't think that will be necessary, as the tests do seem to be having the desired effect.

johny your entitled to your opinion and your politics..but I can rip this government apart on policy morals corruption..anything you want..the list is endless, but the number one is incompetence..we have austerity for austerity's sake..the balance of payments has never been worse..we are becoming a low wage services economy, we make nothing anymore, and we hand our energy over to a communist government..you ask me to be thankful to have a pm who lets the jihadis run riot, he invaded Libya and now we deal with the conseqences..all against his ss and generals advice,  from andy Coulson to putting his thing in pigs..im not proud of this goveremnt..now social housing is destroyed, I said before the election, they will destroy this country ..and they are..

crippen,
did you not read the autobiography..he had the chance of a deal with gaddafi, him and Sarkozy said no, did the same thing like Iraq institutions gone chaos, when your top general calls you a school boy soldier, and your ss warn you this is going to be be a mess..any so called statesmen will heed that call...your man played politics with this country's security and our brave SS have to pick up the pieces, fact 320m spent on bombs ..25m spent on reconstruction?

You should be pretty good at it by now.

I agree with one thing - I am a fool for taking your posts seriously.

You seriously haven't got a clue. Everything you write is little more than a guess.

When you outsource Government welfare contracts, and incentivise them, it's only going to end up one way.

Someone please tell me I've got it wrong. I would love to be wrong for the sake of taxpayers and deserving applicants. Sad

The private sector always do things better than the public sector.

Leave the job to the civil servants and they'd be running up bills bigger than defence for the job!

First Bowie and now Alan Rickman.

That makes two more pensioners this week for tony to add to his tally of old timers popping off during the winter. And all down to the wicked Tory cuts.

all these changes to benefit cuts have very little to do with whittling the small % of people who defraud the system, but everything to do with putting as many hurdles as possible in the way of people who are entitled to benefits in the hope the hurdles stop them applying or sign themselves off, the millions saved can be put together with the other 10,s of millions already saved because older people are to proud to claim what they are entitled to, imo

According to a report from the DWP before Christmas.
As a result of the tests, large numbers of former claimants who were turned away are now in work.
How can you put a price on the difference that has made to their lives?
All they needed was a little push and they've turned their lives around.

I say three cheers for IDS. Keep up the good work.

STUDYFORM
When: 15 Jan 16 12:30
Every system put in place for everything will be abused by the odd chancer. A bit like the Non tax paying people and companies who take advantage, but most do not abuse anything.

There are many disabled or sick people in the UK, a large proportion of whom will not be physically able to work.
They are an easy, virtually silent, target for the out of touch sociopaths who make the rules (and the money) and make political mileage from telling unbending, unaffected Crippens that what they're doing is "The right thing to do". The poor sods are hungry and cold now (as well as being disabled and sick).

There aren't enough jobs for the people who ARE able to work without keeping on at the ones who aren't.

Also the private sector doesn't necessarily do things better. What they do is make far more profit, make loads of cuts to services and charge far more to everybody for what they do than the public sector.

The sad thing about the garbage I read on this forum is that it just goes to show how easy it is for government spin/advertising/marketing/press assistance to fool some of the people all of the time.

This vigorous pursuit of the disabled would be understandable if it applied to everyone.

It certainly doesn't apply to new arrivals.

It certainly doesn't apply to the Roma.

It certainly doesn't apply to polygamous Imams.

In the words of a recently deceased pop star they are " beating up the wrong guy "

But are they, the wrong guy here is the indigenous Brit, its his heritage that's being taken away.

tony, you assume a lot about me. I've never said on here what I do for a living.

You're a benefit claimer yourself, who uses the forum as a platform to vent his anger at being asked to prove that he's disabled.
If you are genuinely disabled then what are you frightened off?
By:

When: 15 Jan 16 16:28
The poor sods are hungry and cold now (as well as being disabled and sick).

Absolute nonsense, disabled people have never been so well looked after as they are now.

Perhaps that's why the figures for people claiming a disability have gone through the roof.
They can get more money if they are disabled.

The only difference now is they are being asked to prove it.
And suddenly many of them are feeling better and finding work. Which speaks for itself.

What about the thousands who were stopped from claiming benefit because they weren't ill and went off and found jobs?
By:
Charlie
When: 15 Jan 16 19:52
Crippen
Because people were stopped from claiming benefits and found jobs doesn't mean they were fit for work. Poverty and desperation often go hand-in-hand.  How many of them are still in work and how has their health suffered? Has anyone looked at the possible future costs to the NHS for treating people who shouldn't really have been in work but were forced into it?

The whole system is designed to pamper to Tory middle-class voters. Savings, if any, are negligible. The suffering caused is huge.
