I deposited a tenner into betfair today for the races. That tenner sometimes takes three days to come out of my account? it arrives in my account within seconds and i start to fiendishly gamble with it. So If i was to do a multiple - an accumulator and win a million can betfair turn around and say i was betting without funds. cos they don't get their cash for three days? they do get the funds. i get to bet. both parties are happy.
the couple who did the lottery got a confirmation that their trys were on. the money would have been withdrawn from their account in due course when they lost?
Pause • Switch to Standard View did they win the lottery? me thinks yes.

I vaguely remember reading about this but didn't they get notification that they weren't on but forgot to check?
Report Zazu • January 2, 2016 3:35 PM GMT
They only had 60p in their account and tickets costs £2.

Sent to deposit screen and never deposited.

Me thinks no, otherwise everyone would do the same and play for free
Report Makybe_Diva • January 2, 2016 3:38 PM GMT
No, they didn't win the lottery because they hadn't entered.
Report naydam • January 2, 2016 4:22 PM GMT
Surely, they would get a message saying 'insufficient funds' or similar. They could try down at the corner shop..."one ticket, please. Here's 60 pence" Grin
Report TheBetterBettor • January 2, 2016 4:31 PM GMT
^^^ agreed, if the online system looked a bit shakey...I would've ran down to the shops just to make sure.
Report Eeternaloptimist • January 2, 2016 4:45 PM GMT
I think they did get that message naydam but forgot to check.
Report naydam • January 2, 2016 5:26 PM GMT
I see, EO. So, the ticket was never 'on' and never likely to be. I guess they should pay more attention to detail. Sad
Report 1st time poster • January 2, 2016 5:54 PM GMT
they must have had some message because lotto said they had multiple attempts none of which registered, why would you have multiple attempts if you thought the 1st one registered, i smell a rat expect to hear more later when the mail have done some digging
Report Zazu • January 2, 2016 6:13 PM GMT

They said they chose the winning numbers and Camelot phone operator had confirmed the numbers were that weeks winning numbers
BUT Camelot say that their phone operators cannot SEE a competitors numbers
So that allegedly was a proven lie

The woman who won £148 million on Euro lottery worked with a relative of mine in the shop--
She finished work but She didn't do anything for them -- not throw a couple of hundred in the pot
and say have a meal on me -- remember
These are Charity Shop volunteers on low incomes..

For the next year after she left the staff were snowed under with mail bags arriving Daily full of begging letters --
They had to go through all the mail because the shops mail was in amongst the begging letters--
Whilst Slogging away under the extra workload - they were reading she had bought a £6.5 million house, etc, which just rubbed salt in .

David, 60, added: “We must be the unluckiest people in the UK.” The couple claim the mobile app shows they bought a ticket for the draw on December 23..... they said they topped up their balance and the sale went through...

Can't they just sue the makers of the mobile app?
Report Rockinron • January 6, 2016 8:59 PM GMT
I play online four times a week ...
When I log on ...it quite clearly shows my balance before and after playing and the ticket is displayed !
