I deposited a tenner into betfair today for the races. That tenner sometimes takes three days to come out of my account? it arrives in my account within seconds and i start to fiendishly gamble with it. So If i was to do a multiple - an accumulator and win a million can betfair turn around and say i was betting without funds. cos they don't get their cash for three days? they do get the funds. i get to bet. both parties are happy.
the couple who did the lottery got a confirmation that their trys were on. the money would have been withdrawn from their account in due course when they lost?

I vaguely remember reading about this but didn't they get notification that they weren't on but forgot to check?

They only had 60p in their account and tickets costs £2.

Sent to deposit screen and never deposited.

Me thinks no, otherwise everyone would do the same and play for free

No, they didn't win the lottery because they hadn't entered.

Surely, they would get a message saying 'insufficient funds' or similar. They could try down at the corner shop..."one ticket, please. Here's 60 pence" Grin

I see, EO. So, the ticket was never 'on' and never likely to be. I guess they should pay more attention to detail. Sad

The woman who won £148 million on Euro lottery worked with a relative of mine in the shop--
She finished work but She didn't do anything for them -- not throw a couple of hundred in the pot
and say have a meal on me -- remember
These are Charity Shop volunteers on low incomes..

For the next year after she left the staff were snowed under with mail bags arriving Daily full of begging letters --
They had to go through all the mail because the shops mail was in amongst the begging letters--
Whilst Slogging away under the extra workload - they were reading she had bought a £6.5 million house, etc, which just rubbed salt in .

David, 60, added: “We must be the unluckiest people in the UK.” The couple claim the mobile app shows they bought a ticket for the draw on December 23..... they said they topped up their balance and the sale went through...

Can't they just sue the makers of the mobile app?
