Hi all
Looking at a recipe requiring slow cooking of beef brisket. Can't find it in the shops. Is there another name for it or a good substitute? I am slow cooking it for shredded beef . Cheers.

Can get it at any supermarket ... it's called, err, brisket.

Can be fatty, so make sure yours is lean ... cooking slowly for long time makes it very tender ... and also has quite a strong beef flavour. Too strong for me but GL

Braising steak is what you need.

Get some that is well "marbled" with fat, which is where much of the flavour is, and keeps it moist.

Cook long and slow. As it happens, today I made another Beef Stew, which has been cooking since midday, and is wonderful!

Meat counter at waitrose does brisket, which because of the texture is ideal for what you want
