Welcome to the Forum WORLD DARTS CHAMPIONSHIPS competition, with prizes of Sportsbook bets for the top 3 places, courtesy of Betfair.
This competition encompasses both the PDC AND BDO versions of the championship.
It runs from Dec 17th (Thursday) and January 10th – (Day of the BDO final).
Entries MUST be in by 6pm Thursday, no entries will be accepted after this time. – I’ll remind you again at the bottom of this post
This is how it works: For those of you who haven't taken part before.
There are 12 sections.
You have to pick 1 name or number (depending on which section) for each one. The scores for each selection are listed below.
Just put the letters A to L with your choice for each – preferably going downwards, followed by a tie-break answer (Final, final score).
The people with the highest scores at the end of the tournament will win as follows: 1st - £50, 2nd - £30, 3rd - £20. To be taken as Sportsbook bets.
In the event of ties, the tiebreak will be operated, if there's still a tie, the prizes will be added and divided equally among those involved in the tie.

A. The 1st round, what will be the score in the match between 20th seed Justin Pipe and former BDO world champion Christian Kist?
For those of us who find watching Mr Pipe hard to do, this section is now a reason to suffer.

Score 3 points for exact, 1 point for getting the winner right but not the score.
B.How many of these 16 players will reach the last 16 (They’re the top 16 seeds, I think)

Choose a number between 0 and 16 In 2014 there were 4, in 2015 there were 4
3 points if you’re correct, 1 point if you’re 1 out.
E. Will either Michael van Gerwen or Gary Anderson win the title?
Simply answer YES or NO
2 points if correct
F. How many 180’s will be scored in total in the 2 Semi-Finals?
2 matches, both best of 11 sets. I’ll have to watch these and count them, hopefully some of you can do the same!?!
Just pick a likely number, I’d guess somewhere between 10 and 40, (brave of me) but it could still be more or less!
Score 5 points if exact, 3 points if wrong by one, 2 points if wrong by 2, 1 point if wrong by 3
G.What will be the 3-Dart average of the winner in the final? Rounded up or down to the nearest whole %
Since 1994 it has ranged from 93 (Lewis - 2012, Part – 2008) and 110 (Taylor – 2009), the others have all been in between.
Choose a number almost certainly between 87 and 113
Score 4 points if exact, 2 points if wrong by one, 1 point if wrong by two.
H. Will there be a 9 Dart 501 in either, both or neither of the tournaments
choose PDC, BDO, BOTH or NONE
Score 2 points for being right.
Now for the BDO (BBC) version:
I. What the score be in the 1st round match between the 12th seed Jim Williams and unseeded Tony O’Shea?.
Best of 5 sets. choose from 3-0, 3-1, 3-2, 2-3, 1-3, 0-3. Please put Williams’s
Score 3 points for correct, 1 point if right winner but wrong score
J. [u]Which of these men will progress furthest?:Scott Mitchell or Scott Waites? Or will they both reach the same stage?
Answer; Mitchell, Waites or Same
Score 2 points for correct
K. How Far will No 1 seed Glen Durrant reach?
Choose from R1, R2, QF, SF, Final (runner-up) or Winner
Score 2 points for being right.
L. How many ENGLISH players will reach the semi finals? – There will be between 13 and 18 Englishmen out of the 32 players taking part in round 1.
Please choose; 0,1,2,3 or 4
Score 2 points if correct
TIEBREAK: What will the score be in the BDO world championship final?
Choose from 7-0, 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, 7-4, 7-5, 7-6
OTHER STUFF
E&OE - Any ties in any sections, points shared; (eg, if the score is 2 points for 3rd, 1 point for 4th, and there's a tie for 3rd, both will score 1.5)
The organiser's (that's me) decision is final. I'll try to update scores and standings at the end of each day's play, or whenever there is updating to do.
If I've made any mistakes (possible), please tell me and I'll do my best to rectify.

Entries and info: 60 entries this year, about the same as 2 years ago, so not too bad. Enough to make it an interesting event.
Here are some details of what we've all selected: Section A: Pipe v Kist - Playing Friday (tomorrow) afternoon. 3 people picked 3-0 one way or the other, otherwise a fair spread. Section B: Predictions range from 9 to 14 seeds in the last 16, with just over 1/2 going for 11 or 12. Section C: As long as Mr Whitlock doesn't get to the final someone will score, (if it's the semi final only me!). Section D: one prediction of 1, no-one thinks more than 6 scores of 4-0 in R2, overwhelmingly 3 or 4. Section E: Only 6 of us think Van Gerwen or Anderson won't lift the crown. Represented as odds therefore, it's about 1/9 that one of them will!!! Section F: How many 180's in the semis? Well, there is a huge spread of guesses could be important in the final shake up. Section G: A winner's average of Less than 101 or more than 104 will score lots of points for the few people who moved outside this central area. Section H: A 9-darter in the BDO but not the PDC will mean no scorers, this is odds of about infinity to one, which I reckon is about right Devil Section I: Slightly more people think O'Shea will beat Williams than not, but no-one thinks he'll do it 3-0 Section J: Mitchell overwhelmingly favoured to get further than Waites in the BDO. Section K: One pick for Mr Durrant to get Ko'd R1, one for R2, the rest say he gets further. Section L: How many English semi finalists in the BDO? 2 people say 4, 3 say 1, the rest 2 or 3. There have been some very entertaining games in the first few days.
MVG got into trouble against a preliminary winner who found some amazing form once he reached 2 sets and 1 leg behind, but scraped through. Simon Whitlock was 2 sets AND 2 legs in front and Ricky Evans suddenly became brilliant and came back to beat him. Excellent to watch and also decided section C as a fairly in form Simon Whitlock goes out in Round 1. 3 of the top 16 seeds have gone already - White, Huybrechts and Whitlock. Good effort Study - like it mate. FWIW I reckon Anderson has the 'minerals' to retain his title. He has no 'double fear' any more & Van Gerwen came close to losing to that German unheard of in the first round. Best of luck to all in both the PDC Worlds & this competition kindly put on by Study.
