Back in 1988 wife and I could not afford to buy a house in England. We were not allowed to train and race our greyhounds on NGRC tracks. The country had so many rules and regulations that we felt stifled.
We bought a small place with a couple of acres near Kilkenny, built some kennels, etc. and were given a trainers licence by the Bord na gCon. We bred, trained and raced our dogs and were extraordinarily lucky. Our kids could play outside no bother and mixed well with the Irish kids at school. The Irish people were the most welcoming and helpful people that we had ever met. However, when the Irish Tiger left town we moved on to Canada, but will always remember Ireland and its people with much affection. |

Luckily the tiger missed me as i was in Engerland. A certain biatch got me instead though.. But i'm not bitter..

annie as long as the drink is Uisce beatha (gaelic for water of life,) later corrupted and shortened to whiskey, the dialect made Uisce sound like whiskey.
So when a yank orders a scotch on the rocks, he's really ordering water on frozen water. |

Al dente, your experience is not unusual, unfortunately for returning Paddies there is no such welcome, "you left when times were bad and now you're back because times are good" was the pre property crash cry, you're just a fckn "Blow in" you've just blown in. because we are doing well. Again perfectly understandable.

By:
annie you have made me come over all unnecessary, are you ok???.

That is very informative, foxy, I have never heard that before.
By the way, please learn to touch type as your posts are much better when they are longer! It only takes about 10 hours to learn to touch type and then you naturally get much quicker when you post. I learnt to touch type many years ago and it is one of the very few things you remember even if you do not use it. I have often not typed for over ten years but my hands still remember!! It has been a godsend with the advent of the internet and this forum. |
|
By:
g2d, behave!! annie a longer post has been requested many times
but that touch typing sounds like a good idea, I have lost many quizzes on typing not knowledge. |

Oh please guinness, no more lorry jokes
![]() I think in this day and age, sadly, I could get betfair to say it again that I am female, but surely if you are a man you can tell the difference between my posting and that of male posters? |

Aaah, the good old days!
I really do not know what to say, as although the forum was far funnier in the 'good old days' I stopped posting because of the abuse. I know posters thought that I should just take it but us women are far more fragile than men. It got to the stage when the bad outweighed the good. It does seem better now, for me, but maybe it is because with the absence of free speech most of my old enemies are frightened to abuse me. |

Annie is a lady for sure and I'd know being an expert on the subject.

Good night annie, you have more friends than you know. I know this will be interpreted for other uses, by the usual suspects, they would convince themselves that an apple, is an unGodly fruit with vaginal references, do we really care what these nut jobs think, no, the trick is to be aware and be ahead of them. Gn all, look forward to Christmas, I am especially looking forward to seeing my granddaughters face on crimbo, she is recovering from surgery and the plaster is coming off this week, fckin brilliant

|
By:
Oh ffs, EO, I need to go to bed can, you not shop for pheromones tomorrow, I believe Tesco are doing a BOGOF on them.
|
|
By:
I don't want any more I can tell you. A pride of lions once turned into a barber shop quartet as I walked past. I tell you man it's a curse when you got this much charisma but I do wish people would stop calling me Mr Panache.

By:
This fred is too addictive, those lions had been radicalized, the enticing harmonies were were just a "blind" A DISTRACTION, sorry, about the shouting, got carried away, they have done a Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep on you. We can help, ring whitehall 1212 immediately.

Considering how many Americans are killed daily by their own gun culture
I would not have thought banning Muslims would make a lot of difference |
