The age of consent in Germany is 14, as long as a person over the age of 21 does not exploit a 14- to 15-year-old person's lack of capacity for sexual self-determination, in which case a conviction of an individual over the age of 21 requires a complaint from the younger individual; being over 21 and engaging in sexual relations with a minor of that age does not constitute an offense by itself. Otherwise the age of consent is 16, although provisions protecting minors against abuse apply until the age of 18 (under Section 182(1), it is illegal to engage in sexual activity with a person under 18 "by taking advantage of an exploitative situation"[29]).

As specified by Sections 176 (Sexual abuse of children) and 182 (Sexual abuse of youths) of the Penal Code, which read:

§ 176: "(1) Whoever commits sexual acts on a person under fourteen (14) years of age (a child) or allows them to be committed on himself by the child, shall be punished by imprisonment from six months to ten years [...]"

§ 180: "(1) Whoever abets the commission of sexual acts of a person under sixteen years of age on or in front of a third person or sexual acts of a third person on a person under sixteen years of age:

by acting as an intermediary; or
by furnishing or creating an opportunity,
shall be punished with imprisonment for not more than three years or a fine. [...]"

§ 182: "(2) A person over twenty-one years of age who abuses a person under sixteen years of age, in that he: 1. commits sexual acts on the person or allows them to be committed on himself by the person; or 2. induces the person to commit sexual acts on a third person or to allow them to be committed on the person by a third person, and thereby exploits the victim's lack of capacity for sexual self-determination, shall be punished with imprisonment for not more than three years or a fine. [...] The act shall only be prosecuted upon complaint, unless the prosecuting authority considers ex officio that it is required to enter the case because of the special public interest therein. [...] The court may dispense with punishment pursuant to these provisions if, in consideration of the conduct of the person against whom the act was directed, the wrongfulness of the act is slight."[30]

That's a low blow Roger.

Oooh sorry, I didn't realise it was such a prickly phrase. I was using it as an equally dumb nom-de-plume as 'liberal' and 'luvvie'.

George Bush as a 'liberal' - I've heard it all now! And those 'liberals' (must stop using that word) Reagan and Thatcher, who thought Bin Laden was a freedom fighter and Mandela was a terrorist?

I'd agree with you though that we'd be far far better off if we stopped going round the world involving ourselves in matters that shouldn't concern us. Unfortunately, we're wedded to the internal combustion engine, which needs oil, which means.....oh hell this has gone on way too long already.....

'Newsnight' will surely take pride this evening that Fury is being investigated 'extremely seriously' by Greater Manchester Police. Fingers crossed there will be another media opportunity for Hashtag 'Youisawomanbruv'.

Careful now...

Blair? Cameron? Brown? Err, Milliband?

Bin Laden was once a friend of America and Mandela was once a terrorist.

So you maintain the right wing want sharia despite what I said last time? Maybe rephrase your suggestion.

Pity the Old Bill in Manchester weren't as quick to deal with the Pakistani gangs raping their white girls. Obviously not enough of a 'hate crime'.

The Davis Cup is a Mickey Mouse competition that most countries don't give a monekys about.  None of the top players entered, and Murray has been consistently beaten by the top players in the Grand Slams.  He's up against 9 World Champions, all of whom are in competitive global sports, and several of whom are multi World Champions.  Shows how gullible the GBP are.

I'm not sure what point you're making here?

I'm saying there is plenty of common ground between generally accepted 'right-wing' views on issues such as homosexuality, the place of women in society, and social (wait for it....) liberalism and Sharia.

I mean Bernie The Bonehead might have to give up his bacon sandwich and everything but hell, his missus can learn to knock him up a steak bap whilst he puts his feet up and watches the stoning of the gays, live from the Brighton Conference centre.

As far as anyone can tell with Fury he isn't telling anyone else how to live their lives. He's given a peak into his world which in this country was the norm until two or three decades ago and remains perfectly normal for millions. Quite what that has to do with plod is beyond me.

I read the story of the cowardly hypocrisy gay rights advocates who target Christians for their views but always avoid targeting Muslims.

Ok, rape laws:

A woman can successfully claim rape if she provides 4 male witnesses...

Failing to do so will result in an adultery/fornication charge. Adultery at the least carries a custodial sentence, hence the high numbers of women in jail in Pakistan..

Apostasy law:

Leave Islam and you face death either by official arrest and execution (see Saudi) or quicker by family or 'friend'.

If you think there's any correlation between Sharia and the right wing, you may want to think again.

All the best.

Accepted and understood

I wasn't talking literally, more in terms of social attitudes, where I maintain there is a major correlation.

Also 'right-wing' is a pretty broad spectrum and whilst, thankfully, we will never see a BNP government in my lifetime, Clause 28 and the Battle of The Beanfield give some indication as to how a Conservative government viewed homosexuality and general freedom of expression.
By:

Woah there Kincaid. Clause 28 was brought in because left wing nutters instead of teaching children how to read and write were politically indoctrinating them against parents wishes.

People were and remain perfectly free to "express" themselves. It just shouldn't be in the classroom because I very much doubt our competitor nations trying to take the dinner off our table are in any way exercised with explaining to ten year olds how to teabag each other.

Is that what they were doing?

I had no idea.

Bit after my time I'm afraid. All we got was Roy the Biology teacher (60 and still lived with his mother) going 'don't do it too much else you'll go blind!'

Sage advice, I'm sure you'll agree, no matter what bolt of cloth you're cut from.

I'm a firm believer in live and let live and if you want someone else to hammer nails in your owd lad then crack on. Of course it's a generalisation. Many gay people just wanted to be left alone to live their lives. Others then as now were on some kind of crusade.

There is so much wrong with our beloved country today but I think the lack of freedom of speech is one of the worst.

Oh, ebulGery, how lovely Happy

You have every right to disagree with gay marriage.  That is what free speech is all about.

I am bisexual and I believe that a lot of gays, although not all, did not have a choice in the matter as they were born that way as people are born disabled etc. It has been proved that the mind and the body are formed at different times and thus a man can have the mind of a woman but the body of a man and visa versa. Although that is not the case with me.  I am hetrosexual but have been with women because I am greedy Happy

The different boxing federations are quite keen on these things...not unusual to have more than one champion nowadays

But I think Tyson Fury is the real one he beat, Wladimir Klitschko, who has been best in the World for some time now

Vlad has said 'failure is not an option' for the return, I hope Fury holds it

Then surely it must be David Haye, Fury has said he will not fight him, but Haye is saying Fury is ducking him

I think Fury may be obliged to meet him to defend his his own honour.

By:

I don't think he ran away, he defended himself well, the problem was, he could never reach Vlad with his own punches

He said an injury to his big toe, meant he list his sprig, I don't know if it affected him or not?

He never did anything like enough Haye either. Klitschko just did what he had to to win. Haye can bang a bit, Klitschko

never gave him the chance.

Haye thinks he can reach Fury, that his argument, it will be a big payday for both

Let us hope he gets his chance. There are plenty of others waiting to meet Fury, Joshua definitely on the up

Deontay Wilder seems the most dangerous challenger to me, but I don,t follow boxing much now
