As far as I am aware women do it voluntarily in our society |
|
By:
Don't care if it's voluntary or a religious obligation.
You can't interact with others in any society without letting the people you are communicating with to see your face and be able to see your lips move and read the your facial expression. I can't, off the top of my head, think of any primate or land based mammal who does not communicate this way. Even in societies where the niqab is prevalent I believe women are able to remove them when just in the prescence of other women or children to facilitate social interaction. If somebody wears the niqab in public in this country, for whatever "reason" it is a demonstration on their part that they have absolutely no intention of communicating with the general public or integrating with the wider society. It is the equivalent of a two-fingered salute to non Muslims. Immigration is not the problem, integration is. |

Islamaphobe(courtesy of ebulgerry) & TERRORIST SYMPATHISER (Courtesy of Kamaroon) Here!!
Ebul gerry defends Islam again - you won't be smiling when one hides a bomb up her ...... It is a symbol not only of female inequality but one of the misogyny and control by men of their women - it doesn't stop at the burqa of course. It is also a political symbol - as stated above, one of sticking two fingers up to you honkeys. If gerry was to take the time and read the qur'an and hadiths and take a look at islamic forums you would see where it is coming from and where islam is going. |

I recently saw a moslem woman wearing a sheepskin burka; supposedly for the cold weather.
She looks like mutton dressed Islam. |
|
By:
Yes they should be banned but also agree that the people who wish to wear one shouldn't be here in the first place.
One thing that's always bothered me though is, if you arrange to meet a friend under the clock outside M & S to discuss tabbouleh recipes, how the hell do you recognise each other if all you can see is 2mm of eyeball? |

I wonder if they realise how ridiculous they appear to Westerners wearing one of those things.
Even when they come on the telly wearing a headscarf, their credibility as far as I'm concerned goes straight out of the window. |

went to Tesco for eye check ... woman in headscarf checked my eyes ... but I wasn't happy. I presumed that she was educated and independently minded.
But then I thought she is either: controlled by the family (and should know better and say NO) OR superstitious (and should know better - an optician FFS ... isn't that science?) So I went to another optician a couple of days ago ... a nice lady who dressed normal and didn't flaunt her superstition - if she was superstitious - BUT THEN I WOULDN'T KNOW AND THAT'S HOW IT SHOULD BE. I'm not specifically an Islamaphobe ... whatever that is, I'M A RAMPANT SUPERSTITIONAPHOBE |

JS, ^^^ the photo reminds me of the time I was in Penang, one came walking up the beach with a servant in tow and proceeded to pose for photo's for a good few minutes, the only other one I saw by the sea was in Rothesay on the Isle of Bute in 2005, a Martian would have looked less out of place than her, him?? it??. |

strangest burkha related incident for me Foxy, was when I was sitting next to one on a flight in the Middle East and she got her t1t out and started breast feeding.
Keeping the boat race covered at all times of course. ![]() |

i've seen film of some swimming in the middle east, it certainly is amusing to us apostates.
do they have a miss saudia arabia competition? or fashion shows for women? if so they must be a bit boring. i once saw a couple of youngish middle eastern men dressed in tracksuits and baseball caps, looking a bit 'home boy'. each had about 3 wives who were in full burkha. the contrast between how they were dressed made me laugh. the irony only increased when i witnessed the young men buying scratch cards! |

HH, they make their own rules as they go along. But that's ok because Allah say's so.

On the subject of apostates, under Saudi law an apostate is classed and charged as a 'terrorist.'
Just recently realised that this perverse situation means I'm a terrorist sympathiser. |
