A very good read imho.

I think it will tbh

But please do not attack it...this makes religion stronger

Ignore it...although we have terrorism to deal with unfortunately, but leave the rest of Muslims alone

Let them come round in their own time

It is that country the United States is the problem....the world may want their products big macs, Kentucky

But not them or their values

They should learn respect fro other countries, the World would be happier

There are serious problems the World has to deal with, POPULATION CONTROL, and possible climate change issues
energy issues and maybe a fairer world where all people can enjoy a decent standard of living, then they wont come here will they?

you have a problem though, the replacement religion of [atheism, gaiaism, socialism, etc] turns out to be non-sceptical, anti-consumerist and very blind in its faith.

i thought the article was weak, not just in its attempt at an argument, but in his understanding of the mechanics of islam, [a vague composite of atheism, non-believing, humanism, secularism] and religion or culture in general.

I see you read it before you posted Polybot

I have had a rereadBlush, and you are right we ourselves have a somewhat blind faith in the advantages of materialism.

I also agree that Islam may be desperate to hold on to followers in its own society, which is why we are seeing a return to extreme
punishments..which is as he says
I don't know what you mean by the mechanics of Islam polybot?

Unless you say we still harbour a need for a religious/superstitious belief which I could agree with
If our science fails I think we could return to it.

There was a link on that page complaining about Tyson Fury's homophobia...
I have an ally at last and a very large one, Heavyweight Champion of the World, that will do for meLaugh

Tyson Fury was on tv before saying he has gay friends and didn't know what 'homophobic' meant...
Report ebulGery • December 1, 2015 1:21 AM GMT
Well he may not have done, fighting is his game, he may not have understood its meaning

Still he was psyching himself for Klitschko, he may calm a bit now

Where I agree with him on this issue is that we cannot ever consider it as quite the same as heterosexuality.
That is never to work, and the opposition to gays is not religious but genetic.

So I would never pursue gays, but gay marriage is just not natural, gays are always best a little off centre.
Report ebulGery • December 1, 2015 1:29 AM GMT
I know gays consider this unfair, but life is not always fair
Remember Oscar Wilde, I think people guessed what he was, but as long as they did not know it was ok.
But he felt the need to say what he was, that downed him, he was appallingly treated of course.

We are more tolerant now, but I don't think they should be pushing it myself, not really.
Underneath we have not changed since Wilde's time I know it.

I don't know??????? I just say what I feel.

should have been an etc here. i forgot scientism and probably a few more, like which many have been appropriated or perverted into modern and convenient meanings. illogical, irrational and self serving i know, but that's always the risk with a belief/non-belief system.

a simple example, but by no means a full explanation: you can punish a slave as much as you like but it doesn't necessarily make him a follower of slavery, it makes him a slave
the same can be said of an atheist punishing (or killing) their buddists, falun gong, or christians.

I think, when it comes to the attraction of ISIS to some, we have to hold up a different and better alternative.

Western, tolerant, Judeo-Christian / secular democracy, whilst by no means perfect, is that alternative, which makes any kind of creeping acceptance of anything else a misguided exercise.

Or put another way:

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free” ....but then don't expect me to change the very society they have come to, to encompass that drudgery, poverty and repression, to make them feel accepted

Last week via a Twitter hashtag ex moslems were encouraged to state why they were no longer moslems. Many of those brave enough to speak out risked threats & intimidation.

But surprise surprise the sh1thouse BBC chose to defend Islamists and attack the hashtag as “hateful”, “Islamophobic” and “bad timing” due to the Paris attacks.

We never expected [the hashtag] to start trending in this way… it really shows just how much people needed to express themselves”, explained Maryam Namazie, founded of the Ex-Muslim Forum, to the BBC.
The BBC’s program featured presenter Anne-Marie Tomchak talking with two male Muslim “community experts”, almost exclusively about how the hashtag was “problematic” and “hateful”. The words “Ex-Muslim” were put in quotation marks, as if to suggest ex-Muslims did not really exist, and there was little discussion about the bravery of the participants and the positive message behind the campaign.

The presenter said Mrs. Namazie was adopting a “strident tone”. BBC journalist Mobeen Azhar said she was “uncompromising” and said some people think of her as an “opportunist”.
“I think in terms of Maryam’s tone, it might make Muslims feel attacked again”, he said. However, Mrs. Namazie had already explained that, “being ex-Muslim is not being anti-Muslim. It’s just criticising an idea.” Plus, there is zero evidence of atheist ex-Muslims physically attacking Muslims, just their ideas.

The presenter also asked Mr. Namazie: “Can you speak is one thing. When you speak is another. And if you look at the recent new events—say for example what happened in Paris, lets look at the refugee crisis around Europe—did it occur to you that this is possibly not the time to put out a hashtag like this?”

Maryam responded by explaining that killings and persecutions have been going on in the Muslim world for centuries, and to view this whole debate through the prism of the recent Paris attack is wrong.

In her blog post, Mrs. Namazie responded to the BBC’s attitude -
“...they intentionally blur the distinction between the criticism of Islam (an idea) and Islamism (a far-Right political movement) with bigotry against Muslims. For far too long, apologists like the BBC have conflated the three in order to silence critics by deeming any criticism of Islam and Islamism as bigotry against people.”

One Ex-Muslim blogger wrote:

“The BBC should really be ashamed of itself for further silencing us by promoting the idea that somehow, SIMPLY STATING we are Ex Muslim and why is tantamount to Islamophobia, and for overwhelmingly interviewing Muslims on a show about Ex Muslims."

Apostatesshould be lauded for their bravery, irrespective of whether we agree ordisagree with their stance. The BBC should be ashamed of itself, failing to support the right of free expression.

I think any faith that demands their followers must not drink alcohol has got it wrong for a start

In my experience lack of alcohol damages a Human Being

If you get yourself blind pissed you wont be thinking of blowing yourself up for a bit of excitement

I would also recommend copious amounts of hash, the World looks a good deal happier

Report ebulGery • December 1, 2015 11:41 PM GMT
Well if anybody has got it you have Mobo, tell us what is likeLaugh

It is based on fear of anything different and believing the lies our Governments and Media turn out

The original problem was an Arab one.....and is concerned with the existence of Israel

The West's interference in the Middle East since circa 1990 has turned this into an Islamic one

Before that we did not have one...I do remember.

One thing we may not realise, because we are living it, is how much we have changed

our own values are NOT what they were in the 1960/70s....much to our detriment I fear, this is also affecting this.

So why has ISIS kills more (Shia) Muslims than Jews?

Why has there never been an attack on Israel or Israeli assets abroad?

Why was there no ISIS support for the intifada?

Because it's predominantly sectarian in its aggression, believing Shia's are apostates that need to be eliminated by any means necessary before even contemplating Israel
Report treetop • December 2, 2015 8:39 AM GMT
Shia are merely the nearest group of apostates that can satisfy the blood lust hatred, christians, jews.hindus and buddhists are viewed the same to sunni muslims.
Report mobo • December 2, 2015 9:16 AM GMT
so I am islamaphobic gerry.

This is better than playing the RACIST card - you need to get up to date -the VICTIM card is the new popular one to play.

So it is ISLAMAPHOBIC to be concerned about muslim aggression - better go and tell that to those people with missing limbs  in Paris.

The irrational fear of a group of extremists now formed in a group promoting the caliphate in the UK currently on tour- yes totally irrational.

I guess the security services who say they have stopped 7 attempts are also irrational and are just whipping up fear.

You have to face the fact that the ideology is based on submission, violence and an imperialist land grab.
Apart from that irrational fear, the shias have been slaughtering sunni and vice versa for as long as their history exists.  But that would be an irrational fear that makes me say that.

So why has ISIS kills more (Shia) Muslims than Jews?

cos it's easier to conquer poor, corrupt and backward muslims than take on sophisticated civilisation.

Why has there never been an attack on Israel or Israeli assets abroad?

there has been

Why was there no ISIS support for the intifada?

they are opening branches as we speak and they are marketing themselves as just as psychopathic and racist as the palestinians

Because it's predominantly sectarian in its aggression, believing Shia's are apostates that need to be eliminated by any means necessary before even contemplating Israel

it's an islamic organisation

I stick to my original argument

The first Gulf War to free little Kuwait. Was that the reason we fought it, NO. It was to weaken Saddam in order to protect Israel.
This can be seen by the quite excessive amount of Saddam's army we killed. I know we kill the enemy in war, but the amount of killing
was quite unnecessary.
Worse still we continued sanctions on Iraq after the War claiming he was still a threat even though we had just demonstrated he was not.

That was the cause of 9/11. I feel sorry for the victims of 9/11 but none for the United States it brought it on itself.
Rather than admit it, the United States invaded Iraq, finally getting rid of Saddam, and leaving the place a hell hole with no
strong government.

With no strong government, Arabs do what they always do, they resorted to fighting each other, hence the present carnage.

ISIS sell their oil to Israel. This suits Israel since they do not want a strong Syria under Assad backed by Russia. Israel also
like seeing Arab kill Arab, it saves them the job. ISIS could not attack Israel, Israel are too strong.

The only threat ISIS or Islam have to us is terrorism, no other. If we attack Islamic countries this increases it, not decreases it.
We seem a long time learning this. We have also given Islam a new lease of life. If we leave it alone it may well succumb to materialism,
that has been put back

We should dissolve this alliance with the United States and France over terrorism, just share information that is all.
Otherwise we are in danger of creating a quasi religious war, if we have not already done so
